oriented Hilltoppers, but the
offense couldn’t put the ball
in the endzone. Kings Moun-
tain drove to the R-S Central
three early in the game but
lost the ball on downs.
Coach Bolt cited Daniel
Honeycutt and Scottie Hop-
per for their offensive play
and Timmy McClain and
Reggie Gamble for their
defensive efforts.
“Our won-lost record
doesn’t show it, but we’ve im-
proved from week to week,”
said Coach Bolt. “We can’t
base our players’ perfor-
mance on the won-lost col-
umn. It’s based on how well
they’ve improved. They've
given a great effort and
haven’t quit and we’re proud
of them. They work hard, are
a good group of kids and we
enjoy working with them.
‘““We’ve been in every
game, and the wins are there :
for them on Thursday night if
they want them,” he added.
“We hope something good
will come for them. We've
been in a rut and can’t get out
of it, but this is a young group
and many of them are new to
football. Hopefully, they can
get on a weight program in
the summer and be part of a
successful program on the
varsity level next season.”
