Odell-Prunier Couple Wed
At Macedonia Baptist Church
Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Richard Prunier, who were
wed Dec. 19, have returned
from a wedding trip to Myrtle
Beach, S.C. and are residing
in Edina Minnesota.
Miss Leigh Ann Odell
became Mr. Prunier’s bride
in a 4 p.m. wedding in
Macedonia Baptist Church.
Rev. Bob Hicklin officiated
at the double ring ceremony
which including lighting of
the Unity candle, The altar of
the church was enhanced by
an arch of spiral candelabra
banked with palms and red
poinsettias.
Mrs. Billie Hicklin was
vocalist and organist and Ron
Connor was vocalist for the
program of wedding music.
The bride was given in
marriage by her stepfather,
Jerry White. She wore an
ivory lace floor length gown
with high neckline and low
v-drop back accented with a
bow and long tapered sleeves
with pouf, fitted bodice and
satin shirt enhanced with
pearls and flared into a brush
train. A pearled headband
with crystals and sequins and
a pearl spray of flowers to the
side ‘attached to a pouf and
fingertip illusion scattered
with pearls completed her at-
tire. She carried an ivory
bouquet of sweetheart roses,
royal blue and mauve
miniature carnations and
baby’s breath.
Mrs. Vickie Gordon of
Kings Mountain, aunt of the
bride, was matron of honor
and Miss Leigh Miller of
Mooresville was maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were
Mrs. Pam Creason of Cher-
ryville .and Miss Elizabeth
Laney of Shelby. Catherine
Gordon, cousin of the bride,
was flower girl.
Bridesmaids wore royal
blue floor length satin sheath
gowns featuring natural
waistlines, short puff sleeves
and V necklines. The matron
of honor and maid of honor

wore mauve floor length
gowns. Each attendant car-
ried a brandy snifter holding
ivory candle.
Best man for the
bridegroom was his father.
Ushers were Rodney Gordon,
uncle of the bride, Charles
Bullock, both of Kings Moun-
tain, and Donald Berkey of
Bellevue, Ohio, brother-in-
law of the bridegroom.
The bride’s mother chose a
tea length fuschia gown of
crepe with long sleeves
Parties Honor
Leigh Ann Odell
Leigh Ann Odell and
Charles Prunier, who were
wed Dec. 19, were honored on
Dec. 18 at a rehearsal dinner
in the Fellowship Hall of
Macedonia Baptist Church.
Hosts were the bridegroom-
elect’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Prunier.
The tables were decorated
with white tablecloths and
red napkins to carry out the
Christmas netting. Centering
each table was an arrange-
ment of red candles with
glass gloves surrounded with
holly.
The guests served
themselves from a buffet of
ham and turkey with all the
trimmings.
A chocolate groom’s cake
was cut by the bridegroom-
to-be and served to guests.
The bridegroom-elect took
the occasion to present his
groomsmen with gifts.
Leigh Ann Odell, whose
wedding to Charles Prunier
took place Dec. 19th in
Macedonia Baptist Church,
was honored Dec. 4th at a
miscellaneous shower and
her co-workers showered her
with gifts for her new home.
Hostesses were Miss Jac-
quie Mills, Mrs. Lois Fowler,
Mrs. Noreen Didonato, Mrs.
Brenda Morgan, Mrs. Joann
Whitley and Mrs. Janet
Malarkey.
The hostesses presented
Miss Odell with a place set-
ting in her chosen china pat-
tern.
Special guest was the
bride-to-be’s mother, Mrs.
Becky White.
Leigh Anne Odell,
December 19 bride-elect of
Charles Richard Prunier,
was honred at a bridesmaid’s
luncheon at 11 a.m. on the
morning of the wedding at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney
Gordon on Fulton Drive.
The home was beautifully
decorated for Christmas and
in the den was a huge nine
foot Christmas tree.
Christmas music played
throughout the morning.
The guests served
themselves from a buffet of
meatballs, chicken drummet-
tes, salad bar, congealed
salad, and homemade
Christmas candy and
desserts.
Present as special guests
were Mrs. Becky White and
Mrs. Maybelle Jones, mother
and grandmother of the
bride-to-be and Mrs. Marilyn
Prunier and Mrs. Linda
Berkey, mother and sister of
the groom.
Leigh Anne took this occa-
sion to present her
bridesmaids with a gift.
Miss Odell is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry White
and Wayne Odell, all of Kings
Mountain. Mr. Prunier is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Prunier of Lancaster, Ohio.

pink crepe gown with V-neck
and long sleeves with a cor-
sage of sweetheart roses.
Miss Jaquie Mills of
Charlotte registered the
guests and Mark Prunier,
brother of the bridegroom,
distributed programs and
rice bags. Mrs. Shirley Neal
of Clover, S.C. directed the
wedding.
The bride’s mother and
stepfather hosted the recep-
tion in the church fellowship °
hall where the royal blue and
mauve theme of the wedding
was carried out in decorative
details. Assisting in serving
were Mrs. Hilda Dixon, Mrs.
Cecile Reynolds, Mrs. Myrtle
Christenson and Mrs. Olivia
Mayhew. :
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry White
and Wayne Odell, all of Kings
Mountain, and is a 1985
graduate of Kings Mountain
Senior High School and a 1986
graduate of Kings College in
Charlotte. She is employed by
the U.S. Department of
Justice in Charlotte and has
transferred to Minneapolis,
Minnesota. She is the grand-
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Jones, Mr. and Mrs.
Maynard Odell and the late
Ervin Gordon, all of Kings
Mountain. She is also the
great-granddaughter of Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard H.
Prunier of Lancaster, Ohio
are parents of the
bridegroom who is a 1979
graduate of Bloom Carroll
High School and a 1983
graduate of Ohio State
University with a degree in
Business Administration and
a major in Accounting. He is
employed with the U.S.
Department of Justice in
Minneapolis, Minnesota.

ding as honorary guests were
Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Reynolds and sons, Mike and
Todd, and Mrs. Linda Berkey
of Bellevue, Ohio, sister of
the bridegroom, and
daughter, Andrea.
An out-of-town reception
was held at the home of the
bridegroom’s parents in Lan-
caster, Ohio on Dec. 27th. The
40 guests presented the
newlyweds with gifts for their
new home in Edina, Min-
nesota.

ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED—Rev. and Mrs. Hinkle A.
Rayfield, Jr. of Cherryville announce the engagement of their
daughter, Krista Dawn, to James Craig DeBrew, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Carl D. DeBrew of Shelby. The bride-elect is a
graduate of Bessemer City High School and received a B.S.
degree in pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill. She is employed by Eckerd’s Drug Store in
Rutherfordton. Mr. DeBrew is a graduate of Crest High
School and received his B.S. in biological and agricultural
engineering from N.C. State University and is employed as a
marketing representative by Carolina Power and Light Co. in
Sumter, S.C. The couple plans an April 9, 1988 wedding in
Cherryville.
