Obituaries RUTH HAMBRIGHT GROVER - Ruth Crisp Hambright, 78, of 304 Cleveland Avenue, died Fri- day at Shelby Convalescent Center. A native of Cleveland Coun- ty, she was the daughter of Lucy Fellows Crisp of Grover and the late Sidney Crisp. Her husband was the late Jakie Deal Hambright. She was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are two brothers, S.A. Crisp Jr. of Grover and Albert Crisp of Charlotte; and four sisters, Mary Rollins and Marjorie Crisp of Grover, Lucy Batts of Charlotte and Julia Crawley of Winston-Salem. Graveside services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Grover Cemetery. A memorial service was con- ducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Shiloh Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Harold Hut- chison. GLADYS BLALOCK Gladys Owens Black, 75, of 209 North City Street, Kings Mountain, died Saturday at Kings Mountain Hospital. A Rutherfordton native, she was the daughter of the late Caleb and Nancy Philbeck Smart, and was a retired textile employee. Her first husband was the late Buren Owens and her se- cond husband was the late Bill Blalock. She is survived by three sons, William C. Owens of Huntsville, Ala., Morris Blalock of Kings Mountain and Royce Blalock of Shelby; two daughters, Shirley Hamrick and Inez Yates of Kings Mountain; a brother, Odell Smart of Kings Moun- tain; a sister, Vertie Bowen of Kings Mountain; 13 grand- children; and 10 great- grandchildren. Services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Mitchell Pruitt. Burial was in Walls Baptist Church Cemetery in Rutherford County.
