Miss Ann Henderson Davis became Mr. Eldridge’s bride in a 5 p.m. wedding in First Wesleyan Church. Dr. Robert Edward Cuttino of Beaufort,S.C. and Rev. John Harris officiated at the double-ring candlelight ceremony. The Service of Music, prior to the ceremony, featured a string ensemble, including Mrs. Bennie Joe Howe, Mrs. Ruth Day Dickson, L. O. Mc- Collum and John Hunsucker, who accompanied Mrs. Linda Lee Dixon as she sang ‘Love Divine, All Loves Excelling.”’ Organ prelude by Mrs.J. N.McClure included Handel's ‘‘Water Music’, Bach’s‘‘Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring’”’ and Schubert’s “Ave Maria.” Tillman Ed- wards Cuttino,III and Robert Cuttino Jones of Sumter,S.C. tolled the hour. During the ceremony Mrs.Dixon sang ‘“‘Entreat Me Not To Leave Thee” and the benedictional “Wedding Prayer.” As the bridal processional sounded, an aisle covering was drawn for the bride. The choir loft was centered with candelabra holding lighted tapers which formed a pyran and concluded with a single light at the base of a cross affixed to the rear wall. Interspersed greenery was used outside the choir railing. A pulpit table held a large brass cross. On either side of this table were brass and silver brushed urns con- tining free standing Calla lilies. The half windows of the church were flanked with magnolia greenery and gyp- sophilia The bride was presented for marriage by her father, William Hiley Davis. Her for- mal gown was a Bianchi Original of candlelight bridal ivory taffeta featuring a bodice covered with Alencon lace, handbeaded pearls and sequins, closing in back with covered buttons. The cap sleeves of Alencon lace were topped with a leaf design centered with a cluster of seed pearls and the portrait neckline was enhanced by a pearl and diamond clustered pendant, gift of the bridegroom. The dropped waist led into the full skirt and chapel-length train trim- med with Alencon lace.The bridal headpiece was an ivory cap featuring em- broidered taffeta petals with several layers of shoulder- length pouffed illusion detail- ed with seed pearls. She wore matching gloves to complete her wedding attire. She car- ried an elongated cascade of Calla lilies. Mrs. Carole Anderson Sor- renti of Sumter,S.C. attended the bride as matron-of-honor and Ms. Patricia Kay Davis of Kings Mountain, sister of the bride,was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Penny Biddix Anthony of Kings Mountain, Ms. Yvette Roberts Cooke of Trinity, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Leigh Mauney Davis of Statesville, sister-in-law of the bride, Mrs. Lynn Taylor Eldridge, sister-in-law of the AMANDA 120 W. Mountain Street - D bridegroom, Ms.Tracy Vic- toria Montgomery and Ms.Debra Kay Scheller, all of Sumter,S.C. Flower girl was Jillian Cook Sorrenti of Sumter, S.C. All the attendants wore deep blue moire faille gowns designed by Bianchi with the neckline and sleeves fashion- ed after the bride’s gown. The dresses featured front single panels with dropped sides and back panels. Their ensembles were completed with matching crepe fabric pumps. Each attendant wore a strand of pearls. The flower girl also wore a tiara of fresh roses and carried a woven basket of rose petals. The at- tendants carried Antherium cascades in deep shades of fuchsia. James Cuttino Eldridge of Sumter,S.C. was his brother’s best man. Mrs. Eldridge chose a Miss Elliette Original for her son’s wedding. The turquoise silk crepe formal dress featured long sleeves and an attached overbodice which draped at the waist and was accen- tuated wth sequined motif overlaid with dropped pearls. She wore matching peau pumps, a white cymbidium orchid and carried a beaded clutch to complement her dress. The bride’s parents hosted the beautifully-appointed reception after the ceremony at Holiday Inn. The reception hall featured an all white decor with magnolia greenery. The foyer was ‘lined by six lanterns holding tapers and decorated with bows and bas- ed in arrangements of magnolias. Aunts and uncles of the bride and bridegroom, Mr.and Mrs. Gerald Rikard and Mr.and Mrs. Ben Myers invited guests into the recep- tion room where they were greeted by Dr. and Mrs. Rance Henderson of Morgan- ton and presented to the bridal party. An oil portrait of the bride was displayed alongside a table which held replica dolls of Princess Di and her flower girl. Grandparents are Don and Lore Fite of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Becky Davis of McCon- nells, S.C., and Steve Owens of Kings Mountain. Great-grandmothers are Mrs. Lexie Horton, the late Elizabeth Fite, and Mrs. Onas Owens, all of Kings Mountain, and Phillipinne Buchel of Germany. White roses, carnations, glads, gyp- sophilia and azaleas featured the mass floral arrangement on the banquet table from which guests were served en- trees of roast beef croissants and shrimp creole with rice. The bride’s table was arrang- ed with a Grecian urn flanked with three branch candelabrum. Side lights and chandeliers were trimmed withh magnolia leaves and white ribbons. Lanterns were placed in the reception room and candles were used on in- dividual tables set up for seating of guests. String music was provided during the reception hours. Mr.and Mrs. William Hiley Davis of Kings Mountain are parents of the bride who is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ernest Lee Davis and Mrs. Henry Loray Henderson, both of Kings Mountain. She is a graduate of Kings Moun- tain Senior High School and received her B.A in Special Education and Psycholog from Central Wesleyan Col- lege, Central, S.C., and the M. Ed. in Special Education from Clemson University. She is employed by Sumter School District No. 2. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. William Cook Eldridge of Sumter,S.C. and the late Mr. Eldridge.He is a graduate of Edmunds High School, Sumter,S.C., attend- ed Furman University and graduated from the Universi- ty of South Carolina at Col- umbia,S.C. with degree in history. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He is the grandson of the late Mr.and Mrs. Rice Eldridge and Mr.and Mrs. James Cuttino and is employed by Sumter,S.C. School District No. 2.
