That was 35 years ago and he’s more interested than ever in good government. Rand, in the Kings Moun- tain area to campaign for the high office of Lieutenant Governor, has led the fight for landmark Democratic legislation in education, roads and economic develop ment and health care. Tony Rand has built a record that reflects his belie2f in progressive govern- ment. As Lt. Governor, he will work, he said, to assist small businesses — they pro- vide most of our state’s new jobs — and for sensible CAMPAIGNING IN CITY — Tony Rand, candidate for Lieutenant Governor in the May Democratic primary, greets Janie Crank of Kings Mountain as he visited in Kings Moun- tain during the weekend. advocates firm measures to protect the public from crime and our children from the growing threat of drugs.
