BILLY LEE DOVER
. Funeral services for Billy Lee
Dover, 47, of 29 Bennett Drive,
who dies May 2 in Kings Moun-
tain Hospital, were held May 4 at
2 p.m. from Cherokee Street
Baptist Church of which he was a
member.
Rev. George Leigh, Rev. Mit-
chell Pruitt and Rev. Max Clark
officiated and interment was in
Mountain Rest Cemetery.
Mr. Dover was a native of
Cleveland County, son of Mary
Carpenter Dover of Kings Moun-
tain and the late Andy Dover.
Survivors, in addition to his
mother, are two sisters, Sue
Hayes and Faye Lovelace, both
of Kings Mountain.
Harris Funeral Home was in

WILLIAM PHEAGIN
Funeral services for William
H. Pheagin, 87, of Route 2, who
died Wednesday in Cleveland
Memorial Hospital, were con-
ducted Friday at 2 p.m. from
Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
Dr. Ernest Arnold officiated
and interment was in Bethlehem
Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Pheagin was a native of
Hall County, Ga., son of the late
Thomas and Nicey Maddox
Pheagin. He was the husband of
the late Lula Lawson Pheagin.
Surviving are his son, the Rev.
William H. Pheagin, Jr. of
Hickory; a daughter, Gladys
Ledbetter of Kings Mountain;
three sisters, Willie Ledford,
Bessie Mull and Gertie Richards
of Shelby; eight grandchildren
and 18 great-grandchildren.
DWIGHT CHAPMAN
Funeral Services for Dwight O.
Chapman, Sr., 51, of Route 2,
Grover, who died Friday at
home, were conducted Sunday at
3 p.m. from Bethany Baptist
Church of which he was a
member.
Rev. James Sanders and Rev.
Dan Walker officiated and
burial, with masonic rites, was in
Grover Cemetery.
A native of Shelby, he was
‘employed as an
H.V.A.C.specialist with Phillip-
Morris in Concord. He had serv-
ed in the Air Force and was a“
member of the White Plains
Shrine Club and State Line
Masonic Lodge No. 373.
He was the son of Addie Lee
Cook Chapman of Shelby and the
late John Jackson Chapman.
Survivors, in addition to his

Blackburn Chapman; a son,
Dwight O. Chapman, II of
Grover; a daughter, Sharon

both of Shelby.

Funeral Services for Mrs.
Mary Lou Benton Adkins, 56, of
Highway 29, Grover, who dies
suddenly Friday at home, were
conducted Sunday 4:30 p.m. from
Bethany Baptist Church of which
she was a member.
Rev. James Sanders officiated
and interment was in Grover
cemetery.
Mrs. Adkins was a Cleveland
County native and was the
daughter of Charlie Benton of
Grover and the late Viola Adams
Benton.
Survivors, in. addition to her
father, are her husband, H. C.
Adkins; a son, Gene Adkins of
Grover; a brother, Odell Benton
of Kings Mountain; a sister,
Alice Wilkes of Shelby; and a
grandchild.

LILLIAN MOORE
Funeral services for Mrs.
Lillian Carreen Wesson Moore,
89, of the Antioch Community
near Grover, were held Friday at
3 p.m. from Antioch Baptist
Church of which she was a
member,
Rev. Vernon Craig and Rev.
Grady Gregory officiated and in-
terment was in the church
cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was a native of
Cherokee County, S.C., daughter
of the late John and Sally Dover
Wesson. She was widow of
Ernest Moore. She died May 4 in
a local nursing home.
She is survived by six sons,
JK., HK. J.V., Everette and
Leon Moore, all of Blacksburg,
S.C., and Edley Moore of
Lumberton; four daughters, Lela
Crook and Ophelia Peterson of
Blacksburg, Iva Millwood of Gaf-
fney and Ovella Camp of Kings
Mountain; and 47 grandchildren.
Gordon-Mortuary was in
charge of arrangements.
WILLIE GILL
Willie Gill, 84, of 1001 N.C.
Highway 161, died May 4 in the
Kings Mountain Hospital.
He was a member of Old Ellis
Chapel Baptist Church and St.
John Lodge No.21.
Surviving are his wife, Willie
Margaret Gill; a stepson, Olanda
Alexander of Lorton, Va., two
stepdaughters, Beverly Alex-
ander of Bessemer City and
Willett Alexander of Kings
Mountain; two brothers, Allen
Gill of Grover and the Rev.
William Gill of Cleveland, Ohio;
a sister, Lizzie Hicklen of
Charlotte; and five step-
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Monday at 3 p.m. from St. James
Masonic Lodge by Rev. Walter
Ellis, interment following in Kel-
ly’s Chapel Cemetery.

Funeral services for Lois
Moore Bolin, 61, of Route 3,
Blacksburg, S.C., who died May
4 in Cleveland Memorial
Hospital, were held Friday at 4
p.m. from Shiloh Presbyterian
Church in Grover of which she
was a member.
Rev. Harold Hutchinson of-
ficiated and interment was in
Grover Cemetery.
Mrs. Bolin was a native of
Cherokee County, wife of the late
Alonzo Edward Bolin and the
daughter of the late Walter and
Etta Jane Childers Moore. She
was a textile employee.
Surviving are her son, Eddie
Bolin of Kings Mountain; a
daughter, Peggy Hawkins of
Blacksburg; two brothers,
Claude Moore and Walter (Shor-
ty) Moore of Blacksburg; two
sisters, Frances Moore and Ger-
trude Moore, both of Blacksburg,
and three grandchildren.

EUGENE LEFEVERS
Funeral services for Eugene
LeFevers, 59, of 5 Bennett Drive,
who died Saturday of an ap-
parent heart attack, were con-
ducted Monday at 4 p.m. at First
Wesleyan Church, of which he
was a member.

Robbie Moore officiated and
burial was in Mountain Rest
Cemetery.
Mr. LeFevers was a native of
Cleveland County and son of the
late Perry and Maude Bell
LeFevers. He was a retired tex-
tile employee and former scout-
master, having served in
scouting for 20 years. He was the

Visit Made
The recent visit of the Red
Cross Bloodmobile to Kings
Mountain Hospital produced 94
pints of blood and 118 donors.
Eight people were first time
donors.
“Although we didn’t reach our
goal of 125 pints, we appreciate
those who came out and sup-
ported the blood bank and gave
one of the best gifts a person can
give,” said Betty Batchler, per-
sonnel director.
Kings Mountain Hospital of-
fered free blood pressure checks
and free cholesterol checks
Wednesday as a feature of
Hospital Week.
Nelline Wood Peterson, 42, of
Route 2, Blacksburg, S.C., who
died Monday, will be conducted
Friday at 3 p.m. at Second Bap-
tist Church. Burial will be in
Mountain Rest Cemetery.
Rev. Eugene Land will of-
ficiate.
Mrs. Peterson was a native of
Kings Mountain, daughter of
Rufus and Beatrice Rippy Wood
and wife of David Peterson.
Surviving, in addition to her
husband and parents, are one
daughter, Kay Godfrey of Smyr-
na, S.C.; three brothers, Donald
Wood of Kings Mountain, Jack
Wood of San Francisco, Calif.,
and Clinton Wood of Spartan-
burg, S.C.; four sisters, Darlene
Bridges, Joyce Hollifield and
Irene Franklin, all of Kings
Mountain,a nd Martha Sue Dover
of Shelby; and one grandchild.
The body will be taken to the
home of her parents at 308 Fair-
view Street Thursday morning
and the family will receive
friends there and from 7-9 p.m.
Thursday night.
