a Ea a oii On Sunday May 8th., the Children’s choir of Long Creek Presbyterian church presented the delightful musical ‘Amazing Grace”. This musical, which contained eight up-beat songs, described Christian Grace through a child’s eyes. As the * drama unfolds, the cast came to identify Grace in the events of their common lives. Under the direction of Betty Davenport the cast of 15 children began work on the production six weeks ago. Children were picked-up after school and transported to and from practice on the church van. This produc- tion was the fourth musical drama for the Long Creek Children’s choir in the past five years. This production stared Joan Smith as Grace. In the course of the drama the ‘live’’ Grace ex- plained her work in God’s world. The musical contained such songs as: ‘‘Has Anybody Here Seen Grace?”, ‘Supernatural’, Special Services Wednesday, May 11, 1988-KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Page 5A Long Creek Children’s Choir Presents Musical ‘Amazing Grace’ “The Grace Place’, ‘Vitamin G”, and “Isn’t it Amazing Grace.”’ A large group of church members, parents and special guests enjoyed the production. There are other families with similiar teaching programs along with a support group made up of parents with similiar needs and in- terests. Beyond the formal requirements to participate in this type program lies yet another more demanding requirement...a dedicated, sincere, loving parent who is willing to devote partically their entire existance to their children and their education. Upon arriving at the Taule home, one is met by four delightful, energetic, and very loving children. Jennifer, the oldest, is very Supportive of her parents’ decision to teach her at home. Jennifer is 2 very polite, loving, and compassionate young lady. ein, the second oldest, is a brown haired, brown eyed, young gentleman. Although Nathan is only nine years old, he appears to have the in- telligence of a much older child. It was quite evi- dent that he loved animals and plans someday to be a veterinarin. Corrie, the youngest daughter, is a blonde- haired, blue-eyed beauty possessing a constant smile that would brighten any day. Aaron, the youngest, has already chosen his profession. He is emphatic--to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a Baptist minister. He is also quite good at naming the planets. A visit with these precious children includes a tour of their class room, an introduction to their dogs, ducks, a sand crab, and last but not least, homemade icecream. The Taule household is no stranger to love. This is evident by the loving nature of each member of the family and their willingness to share this love. Whether or not the Home School Program will work for everyone is questionable but it has cer- tainly worked for Rev. and Mrs. Brian Taule and family.
