A AIA pd _Green-Dellinger From Page 10-A round shaped cakes were used at the base of the larger tiered cake. A musical program for guests was provided by Roger Miller of Kings Mountain. The guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Conner. Goodbyes were by Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Lee. The groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. Lewis Dellinger, Sr., entertained the wedding party and guests at a rehearsal dinner at the Sheraton Plaza Hotel, Charlotte, immediately follow- ing the wedding rehearsal. The party room was beautiful- ly decorated. Toasts were made honoring the bride and groom by the groom’s father. A delicious buffet dinner was served to the guests. The tables were attractively decorated with white linen cloths and multi-colored roses made up the arrangements tor each table. The groom’s cake was served to the guests. The bridegroom-elect chose this time to present gifts to his groomsmen. The Gilbert Patterson home was the setting for a bridesmaid luncheon on Sept. 10 honoring the bride-elect. The hostesses were Mrs. Sadie Patterson, Mrs. Frankie Webster, Mrs. Becky Wyte and Mrs. Susie Keeter. Tables were attractivel decorated using a dusty rose col- or theme. Flowers and candles graced the table. : A delicious three course meal was enjoyed by the 20 guests. The bride-elect took this occa- sion to present gifts to the bridesmaids. A Christmas in July party was held in the church parlor of First Baptist Church recently and hosted by Martha Yarbro, Julie Deaton, Christine Carroll, Betty Mercer, Holly Mercer, Diana Shower At Bethlehem Honors Ruth And Todd Miss Ruth Hullender and Todd Blalock, whose wedding takes place Oct. 1in Bethlehem Baptist Church, were honored recently at a party-shower at Bethlehem Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Hostesses were Mrs. Brenda Caldwell, Mrs. Jean Herndon, Mrs. Betty Graham, Mrs. Helen McDaniel, Mrs. Suzie Terres, Mrs. Brenda Cobb, Mrs. Lib McDaniel, Mrs. Gloria Gordon, Mrs. Amy Caywood and Mrs. Mikie Smith. The hostesses took the occa- sion to present the bride-elect a corsage of daisies and pink baby’s breath and the floral ar- rangement of solk flowers which decorated the bride’s table and two brass lamps. Guests showered the couple with gifts for their new home. Guests were greeted by the mothers of the engaged couple, Mrs. Dub Blalock and Mrs. Bob Hullender, and the bride-elect who were seated on white wicker furniture at the entrance to the fellowship hall. Two white wicker stands flanked the setting with white and pink chrysan- themums. The bride’s table was covered with pink overlaid with lace and silver appointments held pink punch, cake, fresh fruit and dip, and chicken salad puffs. Windows of the fellowship hall were decorated in fresh flowers and pink satin ribbon and bows to create a festive air and to car out the wedding colors of pi and white. Ferns were used as background for the setting. Present as special guests were Mrs. Jack Hullender, grand- mother of the bride-elect, and Mrs. Herman Blalock, Sr., ganimaifer of the bridegroom- elect. Of interest to the 125 guests who attended was a memo table containing pictures of bo Todd and Ruth from childhood. Centering the table was a christening dress handmade in 1900 for Jack Hullender, the bride elect’s paternal grand- father. The bride-elect wore the ress at her six week’s dedica- ion. Miscellaneous Shower Honors Kathy Belk Kathy Belk, bride-elect of Ray Clemmer, was honored on Tues- © day, Aug. 23, at a drop-in miscellaneous shower at First Wesleyan Church fellowship hall Entertaining together were Margie Bridges, Claudette Corn, Carol Dixon, Rita Lawing, Lynn Ramey, Loretta Rathbone, and Clara Ross. Upon arrival, the bride-elect was presented a corsage of miniature pink carnations ac- cented with lace and baby’s breath for her pastel floral party dress. The shower decor was carried out in pink, one of the colors for the wedding theme. The bride’s gift table was pink with a lace overlay and bows tied up at each end. Forty guests showered the bride-elect with gifts for her new home. oo... Party refreshments were serv- ed from a beautifully decorated table of pink and lace overlay enhanced by a centerpiece of freshly cut flowers accented with candles. A Holy Bible was also a special emphasis of the table and placed with candles and opened to the wedding vows. The Fellowship hall was also decorated with ferns. Refreshments of white cake squares decorated with pink rosettes, butter mints with roset- tes, assorted melons and fruits, ham and cheese rollups, ham and cheese poppyseed rolls, cheese daisies and nuts were served. Saturday Brunch Honors Lori Privette, Mr. and Mrs. John O. Plonk, III entertained Aug. 27 at a Saturday brunch honoring Miss Lori Privette and Rickert Hin- nant at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John O. Plonk, Jr. Sixty guests were served from a buffet table centered with an arrangement of fresh roses and stephanotis. The couple was presented with a place setting and serving piece of their china. Precnnt as special guests were Rick Hinnant Mrs. L.E. Hinnant, mother of the bridegroom-to-be; Miss Frances Summers of Charlotte, aunt of the bridegroom-to-be; Miss Bon- nie Hinnant of Greensboro, sister of the bridegroom-to-be; and sisters of the bride-elect, Miss Denise Privette of Raleigh and Miss Amy Privette of Hilton Head, S.C. The couple will be married on Saturday, Sept. 24. Kitchen-Pantry Shower Honors Ray And Kathy Ray Clemmer and Kathy Belk, whose wedding is an event of Sept. 17, were honored at a kitchen-pantry shower Aug. 20. Twenuy-five guests showered the couple with gifts for their new home. Party refreshments were serv- ed throughout the evening and in- cluded cake squares decorated with sugar bells, baskets of assorted melons and fruits, vegetables with ins. chicken salad with crackers, cheese balls and a platter of assorted deli meats and breads. The shower was hosted by friends of Bryant Supply, where the bride-to-be is employed and friends and relatives from the Ringe Mountain area also attend- ed. The shower was held at the home of Mike and Debbie Lewis of Gastonia. Outdoor BBQ Honors October Bridal Couple Ruth Hullender and Todd Blalock, who will be married Oct. 1 in Bethlehem Baptist Church, were honored Aug. 21 at an outdoor barbecue at the home of Tricia and Jimmy Hall. Sharing host duties were Tonya Blalock, Dana Blalock, Margaret Wise, Betty Falls, and Louann Parker. A red tablecloth covered the refreshment table which was centere? with cut flowers Smaller tables, where guests found their places, were also covered in red cloths and centered with cut flowers. The hosts took the occasion to present the couple a toaster and guests showered them with kit- chen gifts and appliances. Refreshments were served to 90 friends who called between 7 and 9 p.m. and presented the bridal pair with ornaments to be used around the Christmas holidays. The church parlor was decorated in the Christmas theme. Kimberly Moretz honored the bride-to-be with a pantry shower at her home recently. Sharing hostess duties were Kim Jenkins, Angie Keeter, Tonya Blalock, Johnna Patterson, and Brenda Green. Friends were served refreshments between 2 and 3 p.m. and the bride-elect was presented various pantry and kit- chen gifts. Resurrection Lutheran Church bellows Hall in Kings Moun- tain was the setting for a drop-in lingerie shower recently honor- ing Linda Green. Hostesses were Betty Plonk, Linda Peeler, Vivian Duncan and Terri Byers. Upon arrival Miss Green was presented a wrist corsage of pastel pink and white roses. The theme of pink and white was car- ried out at the refreshment table. Fifty guests called between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. Special guests included the bride-elect’s mother, Mrs. Lib Green; the pro- spective bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. Lewis Dellinger; his grand- mothers, Mrs. Ruth Long and Mrs. Louise Dellinger. The hostesses presented Miss Green with a vanity tray. Club Carolina in Cherryville was the setting for a pig pickin honoring Linda Green and Lew Dellinger on Sat., Sept. 3. Chaplain and Mrs. Joel Long, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Long and Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Long greeted the guests. Red and white checked cloths and hurricane lanterns decorated the tables in the coun- try theme throughout the ballroom. Seventy-five guests enjoyed barbecue dinner and dancing during the evening. They danced to the music of D.J. Jay Wor- thington Smith of Shelby. Hosting the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Don Alexander, Mr. and Mrs. Keitn Long, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Long, Chaplain and Mrs. Joel Long, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Starnes, Margaret Har- relson, Ruth Long, Louise Dell- inger and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sessoms. : The D.E. Tate home was the setting for a miscellaneous shower honoring Linda Green, bride-elect of Lew Dellinger on June 16. Refreshments were served to 140 guests who called during the afternoon. Hostesses were Mrs. D.E. Tate, Mrs. Fleete Wilson, Mrs. Ted Saine and Mrs. Ray Smith.
