Kings Mountain employees kick-
ed off their portion of the Kings
Mountain United Fund appeal
and raised $1097.
Treasurer Marvin Chappell
said that donations and pledges
also total $2,085.50 which
represents 83 percent of the
city’s quota of $3,830.
“We are very appreciative of
all those who turned out for the
barbecue and appreciate the city
employees who took the in-
itiative to help raise some of the
money for our share of the cam-
paign,”’ he said.
“We hope to reach our goal
early,” said Chappell.
Utility Bills
Are Extended
Utility customers have until
Oct. 7 to pay their September
bills without a late fee penalty.
The reason for the extension is
that the city utility department
delayed sending out the bills for
three working days due to the in-
stallation of a computer system.
The new system also has some
billing glitches for both commer-
cial and residential customers
and those customers with credits
va find them on next month’s
ills.
