FLIGHT WINNERS - Top finishers in the championship B flight of last weekend’s Mixed Team Cham- pionship at KMCC were, left to right, Mickey Powers, Linda Neely, Guy Trout, Ann Withers, Doris Howze and John Howze. McCorkle Team Wins KMCC Golf Tony and Barbara McCorkle fired a 78-81--159 last weekend to win the annual Mixed Team Golf Championship at Kings Moun- tain Country Club. The McCorkles won by six shots over Jerry and Mary Leigh Broadwell, who had a 83-82--165. John Gamble and Ashley McGin- nis were third with a 85-81--166. John and Doris Howze won the championship B flight by four strokes over Linda Neely and Mickey Powers. The Howzes fired a 86-78--164. Powers and Neely had a 89-79--168. Guy Trout and Ann Withers were third with an 86-84--170. Mike and Heidi McDaniel won Tourney the first flight with a 96-90--186. Jim Lybrand and Margie Yancey were second with a 95-94--189 and Mitch and Wanda Howze were third with a 96-98--194. Amy and Darrell Austin Sr. edged Shirley and Darrell Austin Jr. in a family fight for second flight honors. Darrell Sr. and Amy shot a 99-87--186 and Darrell Jr. and Shirley had a 99-89--188. Bill and Brenda Sellers were third with a 98-99--197. Ken and Doris Cloninger shot a 104-96--200 to win the third flight. George and Marion Thomasson were second with a 105-105-110 and Ken and Phyllis Corn were third with a 115-109--224. Girls Tennis Team Wins Kings Mountain High’s girls tennis team won two more mat- ches last week to run its Southwestern 3-A Conference record to 3-0. The KM ladies were scheduled to play Shelby Tuesday after- noon.
