David Jenkins Gets Another Pin For Junior High Grapplers . . . Patriot Grapplers Go To 9-0 Kings Mountain Junior High's wrestlers won three more matches last week to run their record to 7-0 in the Bi-County Middle School Conference and 9-0 overall. The Patriots defeated Burns 66- 24 Monday, Crest 60-22 Wednesday and West Lincoln 68-18 Thursday. "I was real concerned about how we'd do with three matches in one week and two of them back-to- back," said Coach Phil Weathers. "But our guys responded real well. I was proud of them.’ The Patriots lead the Bi-County Conference with a 7-0 record, fol- lowed by West Lincoln with a 5-2 mark and Crest with-a 4-3 figure. The Pats were scheduled to host Shelby yesterday and will battle T.C. Roberson of Asheville in a non-conference match Thursday at BURNS MATCH (Prelims) Ty Ross, Pat Ross and Dean Clark of Kings Mountain all won by pins. Two Kings Mountain men were beaten in the final seconds. Brad Tegram of Crest defeated Thurman Young 9-7 in the final seconds of the 171-pound match and Steve Putnam of Crest decisioned D.J. Mounties Second At R-S Noffitr's Rau Kings Mountain High's wrestlers finished second to R-S Central in a dual meet tournament Saturday at R-S. Kings Mountain lost to the Hilltoppers 42-25 in the opening match, then bounced back to defeat Chase 51-23, Polk Central 44-23 and Central Cabarrus 60-12. Three Kings Mountain grap- plers--Thurman Young, Tee Cole and D.J. Williams--won all four of their matches. Brady Goforth, Timmy McClain, Mike Byers and Andy Hollifield all finished 3-1. The Mountaineers will host Hunter Huss in a non-conference match here Thursday at 7 p.m. Chris Henson, who has been in- jured, will go into the match with a 4-0 record. Cole is 9-1, Young 4-1 ~and Goforth 7-2.
