KM Junior High Wrestlers
Win 11th Conference Title
Kings Mountain Junior High's
wrestlers won their final two regular
season matches last week to run
their streak of consecutive
conference championships to 11.
The Patriots, coached by Phil
Weathers, finished with an 8-0
record in the Bi-County Middle
School Conference and a 10-0
overall mark.
Last week, the Patriots defeated
arch rival Shelby 72-18 in their final
conference match, and then defeated
T.C. Roberson 57-30 in a non-
conference match.
This year marked the first season
for the new Bi-County Conference,
a league comprised of seventh and
eighth grade teams. Prior to joining
the new league, the Patriots won all
10 of the Western N.C. Junior High
Athletic Association championships.
