Corry said the papers were served on the city in late December. Drug Information What can a parent do to pre- vent drug abuse? You can start by providing your child with accurate, up to date infor- mation about drugs. To do this, you must first educate yourself. You don't have to be a drug expert, but you do need to have facts to support your views. Unfortunately, many parents wait until their children are involved in drugs before initiating a discussion. That's too late! You should talk with your children be- fore there's a problem. As early as fourth grade, your children may have some knowledge of the drug scene. Much of their information will be inaccurate and will tend to glamorize drugs. That's why it's very important you be prepared to set the record straight. And, remem- ber, don't make your discussion a one-shot event. Children need to be reminded often where their parents stand on drugs. If you would like to have your questions answered, call the Information Center, 739-1829. A NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION If 1989 is the year you've resolved to sell your house, do it right. Resolve now to get the t possible return on your investment by listing with a real estate profes- sional. There are two issues: the cost and hassle of marketing the property, and — bottom line — your net proceeds. Selling a house takes time and effort. It takes money to advertise and prepare signs. It takes time to show a house, and time to qualify prospec- tive purchasers, to make sure they can afford the house you want to sell them. It takes ex- tra time when you don’t have the experience in writing ads, showing a house, questioning prospects, negotiating — all the important details. What the real estate agent has to offer is knowhow to do it right, to ask the right price, to find a good buyer, to sell the house for the best possible return. Experience shows that real estate Bros get more for a house n a do-it- yourselfer, Here’s wishing you a wonderful New Year.
