Police also issued citation to a 16-year-old on similar charges. Jeanette Littlejohn Turner, 39, Route 4, possession of marijuana, citation issued. Philip Tennyson Wright, 41, 806 Monroe Ave., resisting arrest and delay and obstruct, one count, unse- cured $100 bond. Bill Cagle, No. 29 Summerfield Dixon On Staff At G-W BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. Gardner-Webb College President Dr. M. Christopher White has an- nounced the appointment of Ralph W. Dixon Jr. of Shelby as vice presi- dent for college relations. Dixon, a native of Cleveland County, will be replacing current vice president M. Henry Garrity who will retire in February. In this position, Dixon will be re- sponsible for external relationships of the College. He will handle the total relationship of the College. He will handle the total relationship of the College with its constituents - friends, foundations, area business- es, churches, denominations, publi- cations, sports information and the news media. Dixon is a 1968 graduate of Burns High School and a 1972 grad- uate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a de- gree in business administration. Prior to his appointment at Gardner- Webb, Dixon was employed as vice president for sales and marketing at Olympic School Plan, Inc., a region- al fundraising sales company. Dixon also served as vice president for op- erations for Olympic Textile and Printing Inc., a screenprinter serving the textile industry. Dixon's experience also includes + employment with the State of North Carolina Department of Human Resources, Personnel Management Services Division as chief of institu- tional personnel services, as person- nel manager with Dorothea Dix Hospital and as assistant personnel manager with the Murdoch Center. Six incidents of obtaining money through false pretense were reported by Harris-Teeter Super Market. A white male cashed a total of six checks over a period of time totaling $289.55. Isabel Brown, 400 West Parker Pride bicycle valued at $69.00. Elizabeth Owens Bennett, York Road, reported vandalism to her 1988 Cadillac parked at Kings Mountain Junior High School. Paint was scraped on the car which was damaged $350. Alfred D. Crocker, 909 N. Sterling Drive, reported a break-in at his residence. He left the area on foot, clerks told police. Dorothy Hullender, 811 Gantt St., reported theft of her pocketbook from her desk drawer.
