PARKER Funeral services for Charles William Parker, 69, of 704 Landing St., who died Feb. 18 in the Kings Mountain Hospital, were conduct- ed Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. Harold Upton and Rev. Steve Parker officiated and inter- ment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. i Mr. Parker was a native of Kings Mountain and was retired co-own- er of Parker's Amoco Station. i He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and chairman of the Board of Deacons and Superintendent of the Sunday School. He was a member of Gideons International. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was the son of the late Rev. C. Parker and Bessie Huffman Parker. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Ivey Parker; sons, Charles E. Parker, Steve Parker, Danny Parker and Bill Parker, all of Kings Mountain, Dennis Parker of Lincolnton and Keith Parker of Nashville, Tennessee; brothers, Paul Parker of Lincolnton, Clarence Parker of Dallas and Max Parker of High Shoals; sisters, Ada Funbuten of Nebo, Jewell McNeal of Marion and Virginia Spears of Shelby; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. DAISY LANTZ Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Yoder Lantz, 89, of Route 2, Lincolnton, who died Monday in Kings Mountain Hospital, will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at Daniel's Lutheran Church in Lincolnton, interment following in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lantz is survived hy her son, John Lantz of Lincolnton; three daughters, Mrs. Ann Reep of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Margaret Birke of Fayetteville and Mrs. Frances Butler of Florence, Ala., and 11 grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton. BESSIE JENKINS Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Gertrude Jenkins, 84, of 309 N. Gaston St., who died Friday, Feb. 17 at Kings Mountain Hospital, were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Eric Faust officiated and in- terment was in Bullock's Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Sharon, S.C. A Spartanburg County, S. C. na- tive, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Club Mason. Her husband was the late Ernest Lee Jenkins. She was a retired tex- tile worker and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her son, Ernest Jenkins Jr. of Charlotte; a daughter, Gertrude Wright of Grover; a brother, Coley Mason of Valley Falls, S. C., a sister, Carrie Jenkins of Rock Hill, S. C., seven grand- children and 10 great-grandchil- dren. GARNIE MANIS Funeral services for Garnie Manis, 77, of Route 2, Amesbury Drive, Grover, who died Wed., Feb. 15 at home, were conducted Saturday at 2. p.m. at Bible Holiness. Church in Grover. Joyce McEntyre officiated and interment was in Clingman Memorial Gardens in Blacksburg, S.C. A native of Cherokee County, S. C., he was the son of the late Albert and Helen Bledsoe Manis. He was a retired employee of Minette Mills. Surviving are his wife, Eva Parris Manis; a stepson, Elmer Shirey of the home; a half-sister, Virgie Adams of Grover; two step- grandchildren and two step-great- grandchildren. INEZ H. GARDNER GAFFNEY, S. C. - Inez Henderson Gardner, 72, of Route 7 died Friday at Mary Black Memorial Hospital in Spartanburg. A native of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late William and Maudie Cash Henderson, and the stepdaughter of the late Dorothy Cash Henderson. She lived most of her life in Cherokee County. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress with S&F Manufacturing Company in Spartanburg. She is survived by her husband, Tryon Gardner; two sons, Rev. Randy Gardner of Kings Mountain and James W. Gardner of Gaffney; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Horne of Gaffney; three brothers, Detroy Henderson of Chesnee, J.C. Henderson and Broughton Henderson both of Spartanburg; four sisters, Allie Butman of Gaffney, Irene Gist of Cowpens, and Alta Griffin and Murlene Baggs, both of Spartanburg; eight grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. Services were conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church by the Rev. Ray Caldwell. Burial was in the church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were mem- bers of the Nannie Ivey Sunday School Class and the Ladies Prayer Group of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. GENE GOFORTH Funeral services for Floyd Gene Goforth, 58, of Route 4, who died suddenly Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Kings Mountain Hospital, will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at Dixon Presbyterian Church of which he was a member. His pastor, Rev. Allan Sinclair will officiate and interment will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mr. Goforth was a native of Cleveland County, son of the late Frank L. and Louvenia Turner Goforth. He was employed by Foote Cyprus Mineral Company. He was a former deacon of Dixon Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Mary Childers Goforth; two sons, Danny and Roger Goforth of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Glenda Roby of Bardstown, Ky. and Debbie Goforth of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Dennis Goforth of Kings Mountain and Brevard Goforth of Ridgecrest, Calif; two sistefrs, Vera Ledford of Kings Mountain and Lucy Mode of Lincolnton; and seven grandchil- dren. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home. BOBBY KAPPS Funeral services for Bobby Joe Kapps, 56, of Drapers Trailer Park, Highway 226, Grover, will be con- ducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at Sisk- Butler Funeral Home in Bessemer City by Rev. C. Vernon Craig, in- terment following in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Kapps died Feb. 21 in Cleveland Memorial Hospital. He was a retired auto mechanic for Kapps and Camp Body Shop and a Bessemer City native, son of the late Joe and Pearl Kapps. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; sons, Danny Kapps, Dewayne Kapps; daughters, Mrs. Sharon Sessoms of Kings Mountain, Miss Darlene Kapps of Granite Falls; brother, Fred Kapps of Tallahassee, Ala.; sisters, Mrs. Betty Grant of Kokeechobee, Fla., Mrs. Peggy Barton of Interlachen, Fla., three grandchildren and one great-grand- child.
