All field events, men's and wom- en's shuffleboard and basketball shooting will be held the first day. The second day's competition will include golf at Woodbridge Country Club and tennis at Gardner-Webb. Wednesday, men's and women's competition in cro- quet and table tennis will take place, and bowlers will compete at Major League Lanes, Shelby, in the afternoon. The final day's activities on Thursday will include swimming and billiards at Gardner-Webb in the morning, and putt putt at Cleveland Mall in the afternoon. That evening, at Cleveland Mall, gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to winners in all events. Winners will qualify for the state finals in the fall at Raleigh. Special in the Senior Games this year will be Silver Arts competi- tion. All visual arts entries will be displayed at Cleveland Mall Tuesday through Thursday, and judging of first, second and third place winners will take place at that time. Registration fee is $2 if paid be- fore April 10 and $3 for registering after that date. The fee includes lunch on Monday and allows par- ticipation in as many of the events as desired. Bridges Winner In Wrestling Event Eleven-year-old Kenny Bridges won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling Saturday at the Tar Heel State Classic at Pembroke State University. Over 450 wrestlers from North and South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia competed. Bridges defeated his opponents 18-0 and 19-0 to finish on top of the 95-pound weight class. Gastonia Wins State AAU Crown Gastonia defeated Raleigh 56-42 Sunday to win the 13-year-old State AAU Basketball Tournament at the Kings Mountain High gym. Gastonia, along with second place Charlotte Sonics, will ad- _ vance to the national tournament in July in Indianapolis, Ind. “After losing to Gastonia, Raleigh forfeited the silver medal game to the Sonics. The Sonics had beaten Concord 74-63 in the consolation finals. Kings Mountain's entry lost both of its games in pool play. The Patriots were scheduled to host Crest this afternoon. Next week, they travel to West Lincoln Monday and East Lincoln Wednesday and return home on Thursday to face Shelby in a 4 o'- clock game. ; Coach Tommy Wease's charges built a 5-0 lead after three innings Tuesday but Stephen Fisher had to return to the mound to put out the fire as East Lincoln rallied for four runs in the seventh inning. David Jenkins, the first Patriot hurler, got the win. He faced 11 batters and struck out seven of them. He gave up only one hit and issued only one walk. Fisher came on in the fourth and left the mound in the seventh. East Lincoln got a couple of hits off Benji Ingle, and the Patriots made several errors, and East Lincoln was able to cut the margin to 5-4. Fisher returned to the mound with ane out and got out of the inning. Fisher faced 14 men and struck out four. : Fisher led the KM plate attack with three hits and Ricky Marr added two. Jenkins' triple drove home Robbie Ruff for a 1-0 KM lead in the first.
