CLYDE M. MULLINNIX GROVER - Clyde Marion Mullinnix, 78, of Blackburn Road, died May 23 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. A native of Cannon, Ga., he was | the son of the late Luther and Sara ~=*"Boggs Mullinnix. He was a retired carpenter and member of El Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a 13-year Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Viola Kramar Mullinnix of Grover; one daughter, Diane McMurray of Grover; one foster daughter, Nieta McDaniel of Shelby; two brothers, Henry Mullinnix of Greenville, S.C., and Charles Mullinnix of Greer, S.C.; three sisters, Ola Minyard of Griffin, Ga., Kate Strickland of Shelby and Cora Casey of Blacksburg, S.C.; and two grandchildren. Services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at El Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lynn Sorrells and the Rev. Harold Hutchison. Burial will be in Grover Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight at Harris Funeral Home. McKINNLEY PANTHER GROVER - McKinnley Panther, 80, of Route 1, died May 17 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Charlie C. and Fannie Love Panther. He was retired from Lily Mill Co. and was a member of Lily Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Glynn Panther; son, James "Buck" Panther of Grover; daughter, Joan Gorman of Charlotte; three broth- ers, Grady Panther of Grover, Floyd Panther of Gastonia and J.B. Panther of Shelby; four sisters, Dessie Johnson of Dallas, Oveda Vaughn, Irene Blanton and Edna Arnold an Black, all of Shelby; seven grand- children; and five great-grandchil- dren. Services were conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Glay-Barnette Funeral Home in Shelby by Dr. Ernest Rev. Caris Owens. Burial was in the Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery. JOHN W. MATHIS John Wayne Mathis, five-month- old son of Kenneth and Carol Mathis of 400 Margrace Road, Kings Mountain, died May 17 at “his home. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Roy and Patricia Mathis of Kings Mountain and Kemp and Carolyn Sanders of Shelby; great-grand- mothers, Florence Sanders of Shelby and Elsie Cooper of Boiling Springs; great-great-grandparents, Mr.a and Mrs. Ben Ware of Kings Mountain and Tom Bradley of Dallas. Services were conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, Shelby, by the Rev. Eugene Bumgardner. Burial was in Kings Mountain and Alan Morgan of the home; and a sister, Nancy Smith of Ellenboro. Services, were eoaducied Saturday at'2 p.m. at ‘Harrelson Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry \ Nunn. He was a retired spinning machine installer. He was District Commissioner for the Piedmont Council of the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of High Shoals Baptist Church, In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Annette Piercy Morgan of Ellenboro; two sons, Robert S. Muench, will be awarded his Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon at2 p.m. Jeff's uncle, Colonel R. E. Moulthrop, will be the principal speaker. Colonel Moulthrop, new graduate of the Air War College in Montgomery, Alabama, is enroute to Ellsworth Air Force Base, Rapid City, South Dakota where he will be in charge of missile mainte- nance. The adult leaders of his troop are Scoutmaster Tommy King and Assistant Scoutmaster Bill Sellers. Troop 91 was chartered by Lord Baden Powell in 1908, two years prior to the incorporation of the Boy Scouts of America in 1910. Lord Baden Powell responded to a letter written by Dr. C. K. Bell, pastor of St. Matthew's Lutheran church at that time. Paul Mauney was the last surviving member of the first troop. Classes Scheduled At College Registration for Summer Quarter at Cleveland Community College will be held Wednesday, May 31 from 9 am. to 7:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Building Classes will begin June 5 and end August 25. During July fourth holiday week, July 3-7, classes will not be held. Students may register for any of the 30 different technical, voca- tional, and college transfer pro- gram offered by CCC. In addition, several tri-quarter courses will be offered in the col- lege transfer/general education area: college algebra I, II; trigonometry; physics I, II, III; and Biology I, II, III. These courses are scheduled June 5 to June 22, June 26 to July 20, and July 24 to August 10.
