Warlick Is Admired By Everyone "Always a bridesmaid and never a bride, that's me," quipped JJ Warlick as she recalled the numerous times she has been runner- up to finalists in school competitions during her high school career. The vivacious senior, who ranks No. 2 scholastically in the 265-member Class of 1989 of Kings Mountain High School and just missed the No. 1 designation by a hair, has plenty to be proud about. Her fellow classmates tapped her the "most admired student.” Jennifer Jewel Warlick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Warlick, has a scholastic rating of 4.524, placing just behind Bethan Faust at 4.548. She was a stiff competitor for a Morehead scholarship but lost in the finals and was first runner up to Cleveland County Junior Miss, thus her referral to "always a bridesmaid and never a bride." Warlick received scholarships from - Cleveland County Junior Miss competition, from Dover Mills, N.C. Athletic Association .and Eunice Riggins Memorial scholarship after competing in regional competitions.
