PLANNING AHEAD JUNE Party dresses spanning a time period from the 1920s to the pre- sent, a vintage victrola and 1/4 inch records, old sheet music add zest to the exhibit, "Party Time" at Cleveland County Historical Museum now through mid-June. June 20, 7 p.m. Kings Mountain First Presbyterian Shower, Cookout For Pam Miss Pam Belk, June 10 bride- elect of Jimmy West, was honored with a lingerie shower and cookout on May 15 at the home of Mrs. James Claffee. Upon arrival, the bride-elect was presented with a corsage of pink rosebuds enhanced by antique handmade lace. The guests were entertained on the patio, which was beautifully decorated with pink and white spring flowers from the Claffee flower garden. Hamburgers were served with all the trimmings. Following the meal, guests returned to the dining room where Miss Belk opened trousseau gifts. The refreshment table was cov- ered in lace overlay and held pink and white fresh flowers to carry out the wedding theme. Strawberry coconut cake was served with sauteed buttered pecans, fruit punch with fresh strawberries and fresh flower mold, pink-creme bridal mints and fresh strawberries. Special guests were the mother of the bride-elect, Mrs. Glenda Belk, and sister of the bride-elect, Mrs. Kathy Clemmer. Red Cross Volunteers Are Needed The Cleveland County Chapter of the American Cross needs adult volunteers to help teach babysitting on Saturday, June 17, at its "Babysitting Extravaganza." “Red Cross, WSOC-TV Channel 9, and the Hemby Pediatric Trauma Institute at Charlotte Memorial Hospitat .and Medical Center are sponsoring! the event to teach boys and girls ages 11-13 to be responsi- ble babysitters for younger broth- ers and sisters and for hire.
