Kings Mountain Police Report WRECKS MAY 27 An accident in The Pantry Parking lot on West King St. involved a 1983 Chevrolet truck operated by Christophen Bolin, 704 Sipes St. Bolin told Officer Jimmy West that as he was pulling out of a parking lot the rear of his truck hit the parking lot while the rest of the vehicle was in the street re- sulting in the spare tire being removed from the vehicle and damages of $100. A second accident at Pantry parking lot on West King St. involved a vehicle operated by Edward Morrow, 709 Groves St., who told West that he was pulling out of the parking lot when the rear of his vehicle struck the pavement causing his gas tank to be ruptured and resulting in $300 damage. An accident at the drive-through area of Dairy Queen involved a 1970 Chevrolet operated by Garth Adair Reed, 509 11th St., Bessemer City, and a 1980 Mercury operated by Oliver Bright Bridges, Route 3. Damages were estimated at $250 to the Bridges vehicle and $50 to the Reed vehicle. MAY 30 A vehicle, which left the scene at Pizza Hut Parking Lot,, struck a parked 1989 Olds owned by Henry Pearson York, Route 5, Forest City. Damages were estimated at $200. Vehicles belonging to Jeanette Carriveau Holland, 1500 Northwoods Dr., and Russell S. Burgess, 2045 Remington Rd., Clover,S. C., were in- volved in an accident on Northwoods Drive. The Burgess vehicle was parked and the Holland vehicle was traveling south on Northwoods Drive, according to Ptl Keith Williams. Damages were estimated at $650. Ty JUNE 1 Officer Jimmy West cited Vivian Marie Goode, 308 N. Watterson St., with safe movement violation and John Kenneth Williams, 104 E. King Street, for exceeding safe speed after their ve- hicles were wrecked on Piedmont Avenue at the off ramp of the U. S. 74 Bypass. The 1984 Toyota operated by Goode was damaged $4000. The 1988 KW truck operated by Williams was damaged $2,000. The truck was owned by Kerns Trucking Co. Goode was in- jured in the wreck, according to police Teports. Ptl. Jimmy West cited Rosie Blackwell Potts, 608 Phenix St.,. with failure to yield right-of-way at the in- tersection of Piedmont Avenue at Waco Road and Walker Street. Potts' 1979 Olds was damaged $300. A 1987 Lincoln operated by Eddie Jerry Ruff Jr., 511 Crescent Hill, was damaged $600. JUNE 2 Douglas Delvon McClain, Route 5, was cited for safe movement violation after a two-vehicle wreck at Kings Mountain High School parking lot at Phifer Road. McClain's 1978 Ford truck was damaged $3200 and a 1989 Nissan operated by Stacy Lynn Yarbro, 307 Scotland Drive, was damaged $3500. Yarbro was treated at the hospi- tal for injuries. Michael Huss Gann, 307 N. Gaston St., was cited for safe movement viola- tion after a two-vehicle wreck involv- ing his 1974 Chevrolet and a parked car owned by Keith Williams, 313 N. GAston St. which was damaged $1000. The Gantt vehicle was being backed from a driveway, police said. A 1974 Chevy truck being backed from Phifer Hardware Co. parking lot onto South City Street struck a parked 1988 Nissi: owned by Boyd Eugene Edmonsuu. Alton Ivey, 815-A East King St., was operating the 1974 «+ Chevy truck which was damaged $50. A 1973 Chevrolet owned by Robert Lawton Risica, Route 3, was parked at the gas pumps at Ole Country Store with the engine running. The vehicle jumped out of gear and hit a parked 1980 Chevrolet owned by Mary Gamble Roberts, Route 5, doing $250 damage to her car and $100 to the Risica car. INCIDENTS Custom Metal Fabrication, 816 Floyd St., reported that a piece of as- phalt was thrown through the windows of a company van. Donna Johnson, 116 Cloninger St., reported a break-in and larceny of her residence. Vandals damaged a wa- terbed and took various items from the house which have been recoverd, po- lice said. Thelma Monroe, 219 City St., re- ported that her windshield was dam- aged by a baseball. Audrea Jimison, 213 Parrish Drive, reported a first degree burglary. She said she was watching television in her house when she heard a noise , went to investigate and found an intruder who fled. Donald Payseur, Route 2, reported that his vehicle was scratched while parked at Anvil Knitwear parking lot. Damages totaled $1,000. A bomb threat was reported at Central School. Police responded to a vehicle fire at 212 Benfield Road. John Turner, Kings Mountain, re- ported theft of a bicycle valued at $125. Wix Filters, Kings Mountain, report- ed that a glass window was shattered at the company warehouse doing $150 damage. Dorothy Harlow, 906 First St., said she was feeding a stray cat which scratched her on the hand. She was treated for injuries at the hospital. Ann Ramsey Marino, Crowders View Lane, reported that she was as- saulted at a local convenience store by someone who came from behind and hit her. Officers advised her to take out warrants against the suspect. Ronald Jones, Route 3, reported theft of his car valued at $5000 and theft of $200 in cash. Wynn Crawford, 606 Groves St., re- ported theft of a $2500 diamond ring during a break-in. Thieves ransacked the house and damage was estimated at $500. Barbara Crotts, Apt. 29 Summerfield West, reported that van- dals scratched her vehicle. Sarah Benoist, Bessemer City, re- ported that her tag was removed from her car while she was shopping in a lo- cal grocery store. The tag number: AVP 5667. Elva Smith McGinnis, 204 W. Church St., Cherryville, said her car struck an object in the highway and her gas tank was damaged. Billy Firth, of Kings Mountain Country Club, reported that vandals threw rocks through the front window of the club doing $150 damage. ARRESTS Roger Dale Anderson, 37, of 706 Hillside Drive, DWI, driving while li- cense permanently revoked, $500 se- cured bond. Brian Charles Bickley, 20, of 1001 Wales Road, DWI, unsecured $300 bond. Samuel Paul Welch, 45, of No. 8 West Gate Trailer Park, second degree trespassing, unsecured $300 bond. Richard Lee Wilson, 49, of Route 2 Shelby, possession of intoxicating beverages at Moss Lake. Donald Bell, 43, Route 9 Shelby, possession of intoxicating beverages at TR IL LULL UL Moss Lake. Terry Ellers, 38, ‘of Route 2 Cherryville, possession of intoxicating beverages at Moss Lake. Erwin Rudolph Huber, 32, of 1926 South Post Road, Shelby, possession of intoxicating beverages at Moss Lake. John Phillip Barrow, 20, of Shelby, possession of intoxicating beverages at Moss Lake. Ricky Lewis Carroll, 20, of 516 Bingham Road, drunk and disruptive, $100 secured bond. Hilliard Eugene Coker, 41, of No. 43 Chesterfield Apts., assault with deadly weapon, assault by pointing a gun, communicating threats, secured $1,000 bond. James Ben Reep, 41, of 1003 Fern Ave., Charlotte, DWI, secured $700 bond. Dean Lewis Sisk, 24, of 210 N. Carpenter St., assault, unsecured $200 bond. Donald Shane West, 19, 827 Church St., DWI, stop light violation, speeding to allude arrest, failure to stop at blue light and siren,speeding 70 in 35 m.p.h. zone, $700 secured bond. Students Cook Japanese Food Fish and rice cooked Japanese style and served by kimono-clad Second graders in Sarah Adams and Brenda Foster's class is not un- common this week since the young people have been studying about Japanese customs. Parents of the students and other Second graders at North School joined in a special program in the school's Music Room Monday. The students made their own costumes of paper and colored them in blue Eaton Buys IDT Shares Eaton Corporation today an- nounced its has purchased 68% of the shares of IDT, a Westerville, Ohio manufacturer of real-time in- dustrial workstations. Total value of the transaction was not an- nounced. IDT's products process data and visually display it in a format easi- ly recognizable by operators, su- pervisors and managers. Users ap- ply IDT products with host computers, programmable con- trollers and intelligent devices to monitor and control the function of the production department. IDT, which employs 150 people, will maintain its current manage- ment team and operate as a sub- sidiary with Eaton's Controls Group. Eaton operates a local plant in Grover. Bloodmobiles Miss Goals The Cleveland County Bloodmobile came up short of its goal on all three bloodmobile visits during the past week. Last Wednesday, 33 units were collected at the Farm Bureau. The goal was 85 pints. Thursday, 58 pints were collect- ed at Curtis Wright. The goal was 59. Twelve units were collected at a special O Negative-O Positive drive at the Red Cross office.
