A special day camp for children
ages 7-12 whose families have ex-
perienced spouse abuse and/or sub-
stance abuse is sponsored June -
August by the Cleveland County
Abuse Prevention Council.
Two five-week sessions will be
held, beginning June 12 and July
17. Hours are 8:30 a.m. - 12:30
p.m., Monday through Friday. The
program will provide individual
and group counseling for partici-
pants, as well as special outings.
Parent referrals are accepted.
Transportation is provided, and
there is no cost for participation.
The program is funded by a fed-
eral grant, the Shelby Kiwanis,
Shelby Civitans, the Exchange
Club, and individual contributions.
