A native of Kings Mountain, she was the daughter of the late John Gaffney and Lucy Savannah Humphries Wright and wife of the late William Franklin Osborne. She was a retired telephone operator and member of First Presbyterian Church, She is survived by a son, William F. Osborne Jr. of Hartsville, S.C.; a daughter, Jane O. Burton of Richmond, Va.; a sis- ter, Johnnie Osborne of Kings Mountain; and three grandchildren. Services were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church by Dr. Eric Faust. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. FOYD TATE GREENVILLE, S. C. - Foyd Tate, 84, of Lake Crest Drive, died June 8 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Edith Campbell Tate. He was retired from Dixiesize Chemical Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge 202 in Shelby. He is survived by his wife, Arie McKinney Tate; a son, Wayne Tate of Greenville; three brothers, Dexter Earl Tate and Thomas A. Tate of Kings Mountain and Wayne Clifford Tate of Gastonia; a sister, Mary Dale of Hickory; and two grandchildren. Services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mackey Mortuary Chapel by Dr. Baxter Wynn and Dr. Ernest L. Carswell. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park. A native of Kings Mountain, he was the son of Johnny Ray Short and the late Shirley Perry Short. He was co-owner of E&S Construction Company. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Mildred Ann Carpenter Short of Kings mea Rl Te eh eT hort and Amy Short of Gastonia; three brothers, Donald Ray Short, Billy Joe Short and Ronald Gene Short of Kings Mountain; and three sisters, Mary Frances Parker of Gastonia, Violet Christopher of Pink Hill and Betty Jane Wright of Kings Mountain. Services were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at True Gospel Holiness Church by the Rev. Jerry Morrow. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. ANGEL MARLER GROVER - Angel Renea Marler, infant daughter of Joe and Kelly Ledford Marler of Grover, died June 6 at her home. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Daniel and Samson Marler of the home; three sisters, Rebecca, Kathy and Angela Marler of the home; and grandparents, Ruby Ledford of Shelby and Bertie Marler of Lattimore. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Meek and Ethel Curry Mitchem and wife of the late Atchley Smith. She was a homemaker and member of Good Hope Presbyterian Church, where she was an Elder. She is survived by her stepmoth- er, Alma Mitchem of the home; one son, Frederick Smith of the | home; four stepbrothers, George and James Jamerson of Washington and Luther and A.J. Jamerson of Kings Mountain; four sisters, Virginia Gordon of the home, Jennie Jones of Washington and Vivian Lindsay and Peggy Whitmore of Kings Mountain; and one stepsister, Nellie J. Burris of Shelby. Services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at Good Hope Presbyterian Church by the Rev. State Alexander. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
