EARL DOVER
Funeral services for Earl Dean
Dover, 41, of 224 Parrish Drive,
who died Aug. 16 at Xings
Mountain Hospital, were conduct-
ed Saturday at 2 p.m. at Second
Baptist Church of which he was a
member.
Rev. Gene Land officiated at the
rites and interment was in
Mountain Rest Cemetery.
A native of Cleveland County,
he was the son of the late Jesse and
Martha Sue Wood Dover. He was
employed at Grover Industries.
Surviving are his wife, Annie
Lee Hardin Dover; two stepsons,
George Hardin of Lugoff, S.C. and
" Ronnie Hardin of Kings Creek,
S.C.; one stepdaughter, Ann Martin
of Cherokee Falls, S.C.; two broth-
ers, David Dover of Knoxville,
Tenn. and Carl Dover of Los
Angeles; and two sisters, Susan
Curry of Durham and Cindy Cody
of Boiling Springs.
Harris Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
HARLEY BAITY
Private graveside services for
Harley Lawrence Baity, 69, of 506
Linwood Road, who died Aug. 16
‘at Kings Mountain Hospital, were
conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at
Mountain Rest Cemetery.
Rev. Robbie Moore, assisted by
John Caldwell, officiated.
A native of Kings Mountain, he
was the son of the late Harrison
and Julia Mayes Baity. He was re-
tired from Alcan Aluminum and
was a U. S. Air Force veteran of
World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Lois
McCart Baity; two sons, John
Baity of Jacksonville, Fla. and
Steve Baity of Charlotte; one
daughter, Diane Caldwell of Kings
Mountain; one brother, Floyd Baity
of Kings Mountain; eight grand-
children and four great-grandchil-
dren.
Harris Funeral Home was in

Funeral services for Louise
Dawkins, 72, of 1003 Hemlock
Drive, Shelby, who died Aug. 15 at
Kings Mountain Hospital, were
conducted Saturday at 2:30 a.m at
New Ellis Chapel Baptist Church
by Rev. A. A. Ponder, interment
following in Webb Memorial
Lawns.
A native of Cherokee County,
S.C., she was the daughter of the
late James and Cora Garrison
Dawkins. She was formerly em-
ployed as a private duty nurse.She
was a member of New Ellis Chapel
Baptist Church where she served in
the missionary department.
Surviving are one daughter,
Lessic M. Dawkins of the home;
two brothers, Rosamuel Dawkins
Sr. of Shelby and Albert Ray
Dawkins of Salisbury; and three
sisters, Lula Nora Byrd of
Gastonia, Nettie Faye Huddleston
of Shelby and Fannie Oglesby of
Gaffney, S.C.
McKinney's Funeral Home was

who died Aug. 22 at Kings

City Prayer Service Set
A city-wide prayer network for
"spiritual awakening" will be held
on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 9:30 to
noon at East Gold Wesleyan
Church.
Thirty people organized a Kings
Mountain prayer network July
25th at a meeting at Kings
Mountain Baptist Church under the
leadership of Betty Cash Mitchell
and her pastor, Rev. Fred Schaap.
Seven women from the group at-
tended the quarterly gathering of
the Prayer Network in Charlotte
July 29 at First Baptist Church.
"The Sept. 16 meeting will be a
"starter meeting" of people called
of God to pray for revival and spir-
itual awakening for the Kings
Mountain area," said Mrs.
Mitchell, who said that several
years ago the Prayer Network
group in Charlotte-Metrolina area
began a careful search to identify
the praisers and set meetings at
least four times a year to pray
strategically in a movement for
prayer and revival.

The Sanctuary Choir of Kings
Mountain's First Baptist Church
will present a program of sacred
music at 7 p.m. this Sunday
evening.
The music will vary in style
from contemporary Christian mu-
sic, to hymn arrangements, to
southern gospel. More importantly,
the message of the program is enti-
ted, "Singing Of God's Love."

She was a retired textile employee

Legion Auxiliary Unit 155.

brothers, Dennis Bridges, Charles
Bridges, Jr., Theodore Bridges and
Dan Bridges, all of Kings
Mountain; six grandchildren and
cight great-grandchildren.
