Ridge St., DWI, driving while license revoked, giving false information to officer, secured $600 bond. Homer Duane (Sonny) Turner, 37, of 409 N. Main St., Greer, S. C., DWI, secured $300 bond. Glenda Rene Ross, 29, of 85 Pine Manor, disorderly conduct, resisting ar- rest, unsecured $400 bond. _Travetra Latinea (Verta) Ross, 43 Pine Manor, disorderly conduct, $300 unsecured bond. Jacqueline Courson, 26,0f No. 26 Chesterfield Apt., one count worthless check, $300 secured bond. Kenneth Edgar Greason Jr., 21, of 209 Linwood Road, drunk and disrup- tive, unsecured $100 bond. Jonathan Lavonne Nichols, 19, of 110 N. Cansler St., forgery and utter- ing, secured $6,000 bond. Julius Keith Hagan, 19, of 1050 Barnette Drive, aiding and abetting larceny, unsecured $300 bond. Kalvin Lamar Roberts, 23, of 110 N. Cansler St., forgery and uttering, se- cured $500 bond. J.T. White, 47, of 47 Chesterfield Apt., assault with deadly weapon in- flicting serious injury, unsecured $200 bond. Robert Martin Bagwell, 29, of 409 Gantt St., disposing of mortgaged property, fugitive warrant from South Carolina, held without bond. William Melton Carpenter Jr., 25, of Route 2 Box 437, simple possession of marijuana. Two minors, a 16-year-old and a 17- year-old were cited for not wearing helmets while operating a Mopad. State law requires operators of Mopads to wear a helmet A 17-year-old was charged with DWI, reckless driving and no opera- tor's license. His bond of $500 was se- cured. CITATIONS Allen Lane Logan, 34, of 600 West Mountain St., was cited to court by Linda Haynes, animal warden for the city, for allowing his dog to run at large. Other animal owners cited were: Charlene Hamrick, 202 Benfield Road, $5 fine and $2.50 city dog tag, first ticket; Jerry Mullinax, 917 Henry St., $5 fine and 2.50 dog tag, first ticket; Mary Tate, .Hillside Street, $10 fine, second ticket; Tina Britton, 825 Church St., Laborador found on Grace St., first ticket, $5 fine and $2.50 dog tag; Louise Oliver, 832 Church St., Collie found on Grace St., $5 fine and $2.50 dog tag, first ticket; Sue Saunders, 206 Crawford Drive, white Sheep dog found on Crawford drive, $5 fine and $2.50 for dog tag, first ticket; Charles Edward, 202 Crawford Drive, Retriever found on Crawford Drive, $5 fine and $2.50 dog tag, first ticket; Connie Marlowe, 803 Hillside, gray Scottish Terrier found on Hillside Drive, $5 fine and $2.50 for dog tag, =u first ticket. Officer Haynes pointed out that for a second offense the animal owner is fined $10. If given a third ci- tation, the animal owner is fined $25 and on a fourth offense, the animal owner is cited to court. WRECKS NOV. 2 Four people were hurt in a two-car wreck on York Road at East Gold Street when a 1984 Dodge operated by Cleo Hendrix Allen, of Kings Road, Shelby, struck a 1979 Chevrolet oper- ated by Odas Verge Shelton, 312 Walker St., at the intersection. Allen, 82, Shelton, 65, Ruth Shelton, 66, and Annie Mae Daves, 73, of 106 S. Oriental Avenue, were injured accord- ing to Ptl. Harry Kyle who investigat- ed. Damages were esimated at $4,000 to the Allen vehicle and $1,000 to the Shelton van. The injured were treated at Kings Mountain Hospital. Ptl. Kyle charged Vaughn Spurgeon Meeks, 304 E. Ridge St., with unsafe movement after the Meeks 1987 Chevrolet struck a 1984 Chevrolet owned by Elizabeth Roxanne Batchler, 306 E. Washington Ave., Bessemer City, as Meeks attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway on York Road. Property damages were estimat- ed at $3,000. NOV. 3 A teenager operating a 1979 Datsun and traveling east on Shelby Road swerved and hit a pole at Kings Mountain Plaza doing $50 damage to the pole. Cynthia Benton, of 206 N. Sims St., told police that she came out of Winn- Dixie Store after buying her groceries and found the passenger door of her 1988 Chevrolet damaged by a hit- and -run driver. Property damages were es- timated at $500. NOV. 4 Backing a city trash truck between two parked vehicles at Wade Ford Car Sales, Eugene Borders, Route 1 Shelby, bumped the left bumper of a vehicle belonging to Wade Ford Sales doing $50 damage, police said. A 1988 Ford SW operated by Charles Patrick Spearman, Roue 6, struck a 1988 Nissan operated by Juna Bradford Moore, 505 Monroe Avenue, doing total of $400 damage, said po- lice. Spearman was changing from left to right lanes in traffic when the acci- dent occurred, said police. NOV. § A four-year-old passenger was hurt in a one-vehicle accident on Margrace Road. Laura McArthur Lowery, Route 3, was operating a 1978 Chevy truck. She said she took her eyes briefly away from the road to look at her passenger when the truck ran off the road and in- to a drainage basin. Property damage was estimated at $2,000. The boy was treated at a local doctor's office, ac- cording to police. INCIDENTS Police reported only one incident occurring on Halloween Day, Oct. 31. Kenneth Wayne Stewart, of 207 Blanton Street, reported that paint was scratched on his car by vandals throw- ing eggs. ~v William Alexander, of 1006 Sherwood Lane, reported that his mail- box was damaged $25. Plonk Tire, 227 Cherokee St., re- ported receiving a bad check in the amont of $48. Kingswood Apartments, 200 Spring St., reported a break-in at the office and $300 damage by vandals apparent- ly shooting a "bb" gun. Carlton Ray Oliver, 503 Cherokee St., reported a lost or stolen tag. The number is BNF 777. Tonia Patricia Crocker, 323 Crocker Road, reported that vandals damaged the driver's side window of her 1977 Chevette. Linwood Produce, 805 Cleveland Avenue, reported a break-in. A Lloyd VCR was stolen after thieves broke out windows. The serial number of the VCR is 9838022728 Clark Jerome Stevens, 1715 Northwoods, reported that windows on his 1984 Buick were broken out by vandals. Pic and Pay Shoes, Kings Mountain Plaza, reported that a shopper re- moved a pair of ankle- high boots from the store in a handbag. The boots are valued at $19.95. Angela Marie Subler, 1309 Merrimont Drive, reported that band instruments, tennis shoes and tennis ra- quet were taken from her car the week- end of September 21 valued at $430. Billy Floyd King, 1304 Merrimont, reported that someone broke into his home and took an undetermined amount of jewelry. Sanda Godwin, Suburban Trailer Parks, reported that vandals let air out of her tires and put sugar in the gaso- line tank. Phillips 66, of 600 E. King St, re- ported larceny of $5.00 worth of gaso- line. Shannette Strickland, 23 Pine Manor, reported property damage to her apartment. Mofos Win Three In Bowling Action The Mofos won three of four games from the Bloomers and the Moanbacks won three from the Bams in Duckpin Bowling League action Thursday night at Dilling Heating. Tommy Barrett rolled a 131 line and 362 set and Kenny Bridges added a 111-317 to lead the Mofos over the Bloomers. Shirley Roper had a 121 line and Ronnie Scruggs a 318 set for the losers. John Caveny rolled a 126 line and 319 set and Johnny Jones added a 115-303 to lead the Moanbacks over the Bams. Allen Myers led the losers with a 117 line and 333 set. Foster Re-Enlists In U.S. Army Spec. Jeffrey H. Foster, son of Harold E. Foster of Grover and Vivian E. Putnam of Kings ‘Mountain, ‘has re-enlisted in ‘the U.S. Army at Fort Riley, Kan.
