Central School Career Club Gets A Taste Of 'Hollywood' By SARAH TIGNOR CECNC Reporter Wayne Wright, better known as "Hollywood", from FM Station KISS 102, visited the Career Club at Central School Wednesday. He talked to club members about his career as a D. J. He also made it clear that anybody can be anything they want if they only tried. It takes alot of effort and knowing what to say at the right time. "Hollywood" said he has become a successful D. J. because he was willing to take a low-paying job at a small station and kept working hard until he became well-known to his listeners. "Hollywood" brought a fellow D.J. and friends, "the Unknown D.J." and mentioned some of their experiences working together in California. Career Club members were ex- cited when "Hollywood" started drawing club member's names from an envelope. These members won KISS 102T-shirts and audio cassettes. "Hollywood" asked Todd Huntsinger, club treasurer, to draw . aname and he did his own. The following students were winners of KISS 102 T-shirts and audio cassettes. They were Amy Byers, Sharia White, Marsha Martin, Hart Wells, Shannon Sanders, Heather Alexander, Mark Jennings, Tory Barber, Michelle Fujita, Todd Huntsinger and Lora Goins. Something Old, [G57 Something New. T3717 There's something you need to remember. From now on, when you make long distance calls within the 704 area, dial 0 or 1 + 704 and then the number you're calling. North Carolina's tremendous growth has created a shortage of telephone numbers. By dialing the area code on every long distance call, numbers are freed up for new businesses and residential customers. So remember, when you dial long distance, be sure to use the appropriate area code. And if you have a 704 long distance number on any programmed services, like Speed Dialing, Call Forwarding, or even a FAX machine, now’s the time to reprogram them.
