EN i Religion Kings Mountain Foursquare Gospel Church broke ground Sunday to begin the building of their new multi-purpose facility ex- pected to be completed by mid- summer, The cost of the new facility will be in excess of $200,000. The building will be approximately 5,600 square feet in size and house a new kitchen facility, new bath- rooms equipped with showers, sev- eral Sunday School classrooms, a storage room and a two-thirds size gymnasium. The gymnasium will also be used as a fellowship hall and main assembly area for special services. Design for the new facility was done by architect Lyle E. Smith of Shelby. Jack Kiser of Bessemer City will do the construction. The heating and air conditioning sys- tem will be installed by David Butler of Kings Mountain. Both Kiser and Butler were engaged to build the present facility and the congregation was pleased with their previous work, said the pastor. Members of the Church Physical and Financial Council are Robert Jones, Robert (Bob) Coley, Lewis Barrett, Richard (Carveth) Wells, Jerry Hudson and Richard Harrison. Pastor Stalcup gives high praises for the congregation and support which the entire church has given to make this project possible. When asked how so much could be done by so few, he replies," The people have a mind to work for the glory of God."
