Page 2A-THE KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thursday, April 5, 1990 Obituaries EARL F. NEELEY BESSEMER CITY - Earl Franklin Neeley, 77, of 603 E. Washington Avenue, died March 29, 1990 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A native of Pound, Va., he was the son of the late Henderson and Maude Hale Neeley. He was an equipment operator for Lithium Inc. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church where he served as Sunday School superintendent, was a trustee, member of the ad- ministration board and a member of the choir. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Nichols Neeley; a son, Jerry Neeley of Bessemer City; a daughter, Judy Lowery of Bessemer City; a brother, John H. Black of Grover; a sister, Roxie Smith of Gastonia; five grandchil- dren; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Dick Whitener, the Rev. Yancey Carter and the Rev. Leo Pickering Sunday at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Westview Cemetery. WILLIAM FISH SR. William Guy Fish Sr., 69, of 515 Brook Forest Drive, Kings Mountain, died March 29, 1990 at Memorial Medical Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. A native of Gastonia, he was the son of Margaret M. Fish of Gastonia and the late William M. Fish. He was a retired truck driver and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Mason in the Portsmouth, Va. lodge. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Daisy Welch Fish; two sons, William G. Fish Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ronnie Fish of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, Frank Fish of Asheville and Vernon "Bunn" Fish of Portsmouth, Va.; and two sisters, Margie Buchanan and Dot Tony, both of Gastonia. The funeral was conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia by the Rev. Clarence V. Morris. Burial was in Gaston Memorial Park. GEORGE A. McCLAIN NEW HAVEN, CONN. - George A. McClain, 50, died March 29, 1990, at Hospice Hospital. A former Cleveland County resi- dent, he was the son of Andrew McClain and the late Beatrice Beam McClain. Other survivors include his wife, Doris Ross McClain of Shelby; his stepmother, Dorcas McClain of Kings Mountain; his grandmother, Inez B. Wray of Kings Mountain; three sisters, Pauline Goddard of Kings Mountain, Shirley Williams of Lawndale and Frances Smith of Gastonia; 10 brothers, Paul McClain, Robbic McClain, Arthur McClain, David McClain and Joseph McClain, all of Kings Mountain, Theodore McClain of Shelby, Jesse McClain of Lincolnton, Charles McClain of Kansas City, Kan., Hilliard Hunter of Altus, Okla., and Tim Hunter of Albany, Ga. The funeral was conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. Rev. D.C. Wilson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. BROWN WARE William Brown Ware, 83, of 105 Country Club Drive, Kings Mountain, died April 1, 1990 at 6:40 a.m. at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Luther and Mary Emma Brown Ware. He was a retired building contractor and member of Boyce Memorial ARP. Church, where he served as an elder and former Sunday School Superintendent. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Lindsay Ware; two sons, William B. Ware Jr. and Donald Ware, both of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Ann Thomas of Kings Mountain; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lesslie of Ft. Mill, S.C.; and three grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Boyce Memorial A.R.P. Church by the Rev. Harold Mace. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. GRACIE F. HAMPTON Gracie Fullbright Hampton, 84, of 406 Tate Terrace, Kings Mountain, died March 28, 1990 at 10 a.m. at her home. A native of Sylva, she was the daughter of the late William Eli and Alma Moffett Fullbright, and wife of the late James Henry Hampton. She was a retired textile employee and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Charles Hampton of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Edmonds of Chattanooga, Tn.; two brothers, Ralph Fullbright of Bessemer City and Roy Fullbright of Clover, S.C.; three sisters, Beulah Dockery, Clara Lattimore and Maggie Reed, all of Gastonia; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Mary (Daisy) Adams. The funeral was conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church by the Rev. Frank Gordon and the Rev. Marshall Gupton. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Fund Drive From Page 1-A Lucille Peterson and Betty Jones are sponsoring the Coffee Break from 6 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Sunday at the Peterson home, lo- cated next door to Jim Amos Tax Service. "This is the least that we can do for this family," said Peterson. Mrs. Jo Ann Bridges, of 114 Yarbro Road, aunt of Mrs. Lowery, is accepting donations from the public, said Mrs. Peterson. The Lowerys reside in Kings Mobile Home Park on Yarbro Road but Mrs. Lowery has been at the hospital with Lowery since the ac- cident. Lowery is employed at Kinmont Industries.
