Obituaries Page 2A-THE KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD Thursday, May 10, 1990 DOROTHY COSTNER BESSEMER CITY - Dorothy Fulton Costner, 57, of Besstown Road, died May 6, 1990, at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A Cleveland. County native, she was the daughter of the late P.D. and Emma Witherspoon Fulton. She == was a homemaker and member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star, served on the Bessemer City Schools Advisory Board and worked with Meals of Wheels. She is survived by her husband, C.J. Costner; son, Garry Costner of Gastonia; daughter, Iva Jean Hughes of Bessemer City; four brothers, Robert Fulton of York, S.C., Paul Fulton and Oren Fulton of Kings Mountain and W.P. Fulton of Waco; one sister, Louise Clemmer of Gastonia; and four grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church by the Rev. Robert Mitschke. Burial was in Bessemer City Memorial Gardens. MARGARET CURRENCE Margaret Irene Dawkins Currence, 100 Pine Manor Apartments, died May 5, 1990. She was a member of First Antioch Christian Fellowship Church in Gastonia. She is survived by her husband, R.B. Currence; one daughter, Sandra Currence of Rock Hill, S.C.; three sons, Calvin Dawkins of Gastonia, Roy Currence of Durham and James Currence of Bessemer City; mother, Sue Staff Lockhart of Gastonia, stepfather, William Lockhart of Gastonia; father, Robert Watson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; step- mother, Zella Watson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nine sisters, Bernice White of Gastonia, Valarie Bruton and Maria Watson of Brooklyn, N.Y., Janita Lockhart of Wellford, S.C., Arlene Fulcher of Rock Hill, S.C., and Anita Wilson, Sanita Wilson, Felica Banks and Andrea Wilson of Kings Mountain; nine brothers, William Dawkins of Boston, James Dawkins of Hickory, Harold Starr and Robert Joe McDowell of Gastonia, Kenneth Watson, Vincent Watson and Jeffery Watson of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Charles Cline and William Lockhart of Kings Mountain; and 11 grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Bethlehem Christian Fellowship Church of God in Gastonia. Officiating were the Rev. Osco Gardin Sr. and . Bishop David Adams. Burial was in \ JACK HOPE SR. Funeral services for Jack - Norman Hope Sr., 51, of 713 Sandalwood Lane, who died May 8 at home, will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at Piedmont Baptist Church by Rev. Donald Denton, interment following in Mountain Rest Cemetery. He was a native of Cleveland County, son of the late George and Maggie Humphries Hope. He was employed as lead mechanic at Ithaca Industries. He was a member of Flint Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia, Surviving are his wife, Barbara Ann Hope; sons, Jack Norman Hope Jr. and Tony Dale Hope, both of Bessemer City; daughter, Lucy Ann Hope Kennedy of Kings Mountain; brothers, Rev. Bob Hope, Buster Hope, Don Hope, all of Kings Mountain, and Steve Hope of Dallas; sisters, Pauline Kimbrell, Mildred Hemdon, Doris Grigg, all of Kings Mountain and Zeldia Anna Carr of Huntersville; and five grandchildren. FANNIE B. COOPER Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Boles Cooper, 82, of 106 E. Ballard St., Cherryville, were con- ducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Lattimore Baptist Church by Rev. Michael Jones, interment following in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cooper died May 2 at Lincoln Nursing Center in Lincolnton. She was a native of Gwinnett County, Ga., daughter of the late Oscar Morgan and Elizabeth Grizzle Boles. She was widow of Landrum Audie Cooper. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Cherryville. Surviving are four sons, Newel Cooper of Kings Mountain, Tommy Cooper of Charlotte, Dwight Cooper of Winder, Ga. and William Clyde Cooper of Mount Holly; daughter, Jewell Huffstetler of Cherryville; two brothers, Junius Boles and Roscoe Boles, both of Greenville, S.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Cloatie Tessneer and Mrs. Rosalie Smith, both of Kings Mountain, and Mrs. Lois Canipe of Marion; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. RANDALL Memorial services for William Theodore Randall, 82, of 408 Gardner St., Shelby, who died May 3 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital, were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Shelby, interment fol- lowing in Mountain Rest Cemetery. The service was conducted by Ralph Queen, Bob Blakeley and Walter Schmovtz. A native of Kings Mountain, Randall was son of the late Levi and Amanda Etta Dellinger Randall and husband of the late Lona Crowder Randall. He was a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses. Surviving are his daughter, Shirley R. Mendenhall of Janesville, Wisc; brother, Ivey S. Randall of Kings Mountain; and sister, Manie Grice of Kings Mountain. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late John and Geneva Ross Hull. He was a retired miner and U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Elnora Smith Hull; three sisters, Gladys Hull of Shelby, Louise Meeks of Grover and Inez Hull of Blacksburg, S.C.; and three broth- ers, Roy Hull of California, Cecil Hull of Harrisburg, Pa., and Jimmy Hull of Blacksburg, S.C.
