Her fa- ther is a native of Kings i Mountain. M s Reinhardt re- ceived a B. A. in Psychology and plans to at- tend graduate school for her master's degree in developmen- tal psychology. Volunteer Appreciation Dinner Honors The Kings Mountain Senior Center honored 73 volunteers Saturday at its sixth annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch. Volunteers were served hot chicken salad, egg rolls, fresh fruit, bran muffins, lemon eclair, banana punch and coffee. Aging Director, Monty Thornburg, praised volunteers for donating 3,000 hours to the Senior Center in the past year and stressed the importance of their duties. Volunteers assisted the Senior Center Staff this year by transport- ing home delivered meals, working as telephone receptionist, blood pressure clinic nurses, health screeners, Senior Center records clerks, distributing commodity foods, and driving clients to medi- cal appointments. The highlight of the event was the announcement of the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award. Pauline was presented a plaque with this year's motto "Always By Your Side" for her ser- vice. All volunteers were presented a certificate of appreciation and a single yellow long stem rose. Thornburg challenged the volun- teers with a Volunteer Wish List for 1990-91. Special guest speaker for the event was June Barbour, Public Relations Director for the North Carolina Division of Aging in Raleigh. Other guests included Mayor and Mrs. Kyle Smith, Commissioner and Mrs. Elvin Green, Commissioner Norma Bridges and Commissioner Fred Finger. Thornburg also recognized Senior Center staff members Sharon Eaker, Charles Walker, Flossie Powell, Margaret Bowles, Margie Pursley and Lue McClain.
