Hi i Seventy-six Little Theater-goers attended last weekend's premiere dinner-theater show,"Greater Tuna" at Holiday Inn. "It was a big success," said John Greene, manager of Holiday Inn. Matthew Bradshaw, acting stu- dent at UNC-G and a veteran L-T performer, and Paul Woods, also a veteran L-T performer and mort- gage officer at Home Federal Savings Bank, starred in the show and played the role of six charac- ters, two disc jockeys who work The story revolved around town characters and the duo adapted to the roles quite well. A small stage was created in the private dining room of the Holiday Inn for the radio station setting and dining tables were arranged cabaret style. Guests enjoyed a buffet din- ner. At intermission time, dessert and coffee was served. The clan has met every other year since 1976. The invocation was given by Zeb O. Plonk of Kings Mountain. A bountiful picnic dinner was en- joyed by the descendants who .., came from Several states including - Alaska. ? Sandra Bamgndies made intro- ductory remarks and Dr. George Plonk introduced the speaker, Dr. Bob Patterson, author and Professor of Religion at Baylor University in Waco, Texas since 1961. Beginning in 1970, Dr. Patterson has been involved in writing 33 publications. Dr. Patterson, using his histori- cal matter and recollections from family members, told of the life of John Bunyon (Bun) Patterson. He was born in 1878 and died in 1962. He was married to Annie Carroll and they were parents of five daughters and three sons. He was one of 12 children of Ira Hardin Patterson and Angeline Whitesides Patterson. "Mr. Bun" Patterson was a well known farmer and dairyman and lived in the Patterson Grove community. He was a member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. Jeanne Beam read the list of deaths and births occurring since the last reunion held in August 1988. Piedmont Church Sets Vacation Bible School Piedmont Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School Aug. 5-10 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. nightly.s A program will be provided for nursery-age through adults.
