FOOTBALL
From Page 6-A
Hicks said the performance by
Williams, who played every play
on offense and defense, was as
good an all-around effort as he's
had out of a player since he's been
coaching here. He made nine tack-
les on defense, including two for
losses, and had over 200 kick re-
turn yards, plus another return of
90 yards which was called back be-
cause of a controversial clipping
call.
"He had just an unbelievable
game," he said. "They tried to pick
on him by putting that big old
number 8 (Hush) out as a slot, and
tried to throw underneath him and
tried to block him with the real big
guys. But he did a heck of a job.
That's one of the most total indi-
vidual efforts I've seen in a long
time."
Hicks also praised the running
performance of Lockhart, who ran
hard and was the leading rusher
against a Burns defense which was
designed especially to stop him af-
ter his two outstanding perfor-
mances in KM wins over Burns
last year.
"He broke the big play that kept
us in the ballgame," Hicks said, re-
