Benchley, Robert. The Best of
Robert Benchley (Caedmon,
19750.
This selection is read by Bob
Elliot, who has delighted radio, TV,
and movie audiences for more than
30 years. Benchley is best when
read aloud, because the deceptively
gentle style lulls the listener, until
suddenly something unusual hap-
pens. So skillfully does Benchley
pace his work that you can come
around to the same curve again and
again and be surprised again and
again.
Dailey, Janet. Revealed. (Random
House Audio Books, 1989).
Read by Stephonie Zimbalist,
this is a dramatic saga of jealousy
and pride, love and revenge, and
the deep, bonding power of the
land. Rivals is an epic drama that
moves from the early land rush of
post Civil War Oklahoma to the
billion dollar real estate deals of to-
day's San Francisco.
Homer. The Odyssey. (Spoken
Arts, Inc. 1987).
This cassette adventure tale is
translated and read by Ennis Rees.

Labirchion, Inc., 1989).
Jeeves, the inscrutable gentle-
man's gentleman who steers his be-
fuddled employer, Bertie Wooster,
through countless scrapes, is
Wodehouse's witiest and most en-
during character. On this brilliantly
performed recording, Jeeves is por-
trayed by Roger Livesky while
Terry Thomas plays Bertie. MESA

meant to be read aloud and this
fine recording brings his sardonic
humor to life as it conjurs up a
world of tea trays, formidable
aunts, rich uncles, and understates
satire as British as tweed.
