Mr. and Mrs. Robin Mark Scruggs, who were wed Saturday, are on a
1 wedding trip to Hilton Head Island, S. C. and afterwards will be at home
iat Kelston Place in Charlotte, .
& Miss Lois Elaine Webster became Mr. Scruggs bride in a 4 p.m. wed-
fi ding i in Irving Park Methodist Church in Greensboro.
i Rev. Joe Davis officiated the ceremony for which Woody Faulkner
:iwas organist and Scott Adair was guitarist.
i The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full-length white
: wedding gown designed by Demetrios for Ilissa, featuring an elegant se-
i quined straight silhouette featuring lace on the back of the bodice to the
iiwaist. She carried a bouquet of red roses and baby's breath.
i Laurie Weaver of Charlotte was maid of honor and bridesmaids were
iStacy Street, Anne Stukey, both of Charlotte; Connie Daniels and
iAndrea Young, both of Raleigh; Denise Shenton of Greenville, S.C., and
{Gail French and Teresa Oakley, both of Greensboro.
it All the attendants wore tea-length black dresses featuring sweetheart
inecklines, dirndl skirts with white bows at the front left side of the
iwaistlines and matching white wraps for their shoulders. The dresses
swere designed by Michele Piccione for Alfred Angelo. They carried
ibouquets of red roses and baby's breath.
i: Annie Wessinger, the bride's cousin, was flower girl. She wore a
iwhite full-skirted dress and wore black and white bows in braids of her
‘hair with black patent slippers.
Participating in the wedding as honor attendants were Vaunda
Browning of Charlotte and Leslie Lytle and Pam Mavers, both of
Washington, D.C
% The bridegroom's father was best man.
Ushers were Stan Scruggs of Kings Mountain, brother of the bride,

Black-Carter
First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh was the setting Saturday for the
wedding of Anne Julian Black and George William Carter Jr.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Houston Black of Raleigh , is
granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence L. Black of Kings Mountain.
She attended UNC at Charlotte and majored in Business. Her father is a
Kings Mountain native.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. George William Carter Sr. of
Beaufort, is a graduate of Appalachian Sate University with a degree in
Industrial Technology.
Dr. Edwin C. Stock Jr. officiated the ceremony for which the nuptial
music was presented by Norman Acker, organist, and Margaret Garriss,
violinist.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore her mother's wedding
gown, a formal design of candlelight satin and Alencon lace enhanced
with lace and pearls. The gown featured a long train attached to the for-
mal-length skirt. She wore a candlelight veil attached to a circlet of satin
flowers. She carried a white bridal bouquet.
Mrs. William Houston Black Jr., of Greensboro, sister-in-law of the
bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Cheryl Smith of Trinity,
Scottie Sue Crenshaw of Charlotte, Len Gilstrap of Little Washington,
Bailey Sasser of LaGrange and Jean Smith of Kinston.
The bridegroom's father was best man.
Groomsmen were W. Houston Black Jr. of Greensboro, brother of the
bride; Daniel Falkawski of Pink Hill, David Falkawski of Raleigh, Jack
Gilstrap of Little Washington and Steve Sasser of LaGrange.
The bride's parents hosted the reception after the ceremony at Capital
City Club.
After a wedding trip to Boulder, Colorado, the newlyweds will be at
home in Raleigh.
The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Friday evening
at Cavenish House in Raleigh.
