RHEA Elizabeth Mauney Rhea, 92, of 611 West Mountain Street, Kings Mountain, died October 26, 1990 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Caleb and Margaret Kennedy Mauney and wife of the late James Monroe Rhea. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She was the last charter member of the Kings Mountain American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by three daugh- ters, Marjorie Beamon of Richmond, Va., Florence Swain of Kings Mountain and Beulah Spivey of Charlotte; 13 grandchil- © dren; and 17 great-grandchildren. : Memorial services were con- © ducted by Dr. John Sloan Sunday . at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church. © Burial was in Mountain Rest - Cemetery. : Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church building fund, West King Street, Kings Mountain. VERNIE HOCKER SHELBY - Vernie Lee Chapman Hocker, 81, of 1101 North Morgan Street, Shelby, died October 31, 1990 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Hallie Brooks . Chapman and wife of the late Richard Hocker. She was a mem- ber of Kings Mountain Baptist Church. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Harris Chapel by the Rev. J.C. Goare. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home. MABEL W. WARLICK STANLEY - Mrs. Mabel Warlick Logan, 77, of Route 1 died Fri., Oct. 26, 1990 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Etta Heavner Warlick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh A. Logan Jr. She is survived by two sons, Hugh A. Logan III of Kings Mountain and'David Logan of Glastonbury, Conn.; one daughter, | Mrs. Barbara Killian of Stanley; and six grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Sunday at Warlick Funeral Home Chapel in Lincolnton. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. : ALEX "RED" RANDALL JR. LINCOLNTON - Alex Talmadge "Red" Randall Jr., 71, of 123 Mooresville Road, died October 28, 1990 at Carolina Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Alex T. and Mary Ethel Davidson Randall. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morganton and a member of Optimist Club International. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Henry Summitt Randall; one son, Alex Talmadge Randall III of Burke, Va.; two daughters, Barbara Munson of Lincolnton and Sara Kristina Roberts of Wilkesboro; three brothers, Bayne Randall and Robert Randall of Shelby and Hugh Randall of Hendersonville; and four grandchildren, Joellen, Kate, Heather and Sam. Graveside services were con- ducted by Rev. Beth Ann Miller Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mountain, died October 29, 1990 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late George Clifton and Emma Lee Hord and was married to the late Ellen Turner Hord. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Richard Plyler Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Patterson Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
