He is a member of Troop 17 of Kings Mountain. Derriel Smith is Scoutmaster. Brandon is the 17-year-old son of Jerry and Cathy Wright of Bessemer City. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jake Burgess of Cherryville and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Wright of Bessemer City. His great-grandmother is Mrs. Barney Carpenter of Cherryville. LISA BLANTON KM's Lisa Blanton In Honor Society Lisa Michelle Blanton of Kings Mountain was recently inducted in- to Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing honor society SECAS, which stands for service, educa- tion, culture, advancement and suc- cess. To be eligible for SECAS, one must obtain two faculty and one peer recommendation, and main- tain a 3.25 grade point average. Blanton was also named Nursing Student of the Year for PH School of Nursing by PH. Association of Nursing Students. She will contin- ue on to the state level in February at the yearly meeting of the N.C. Association of Nursing Students in Charlotte. Lisa is a 1989 graduate of Kings Mountain High School. She is the daughter of Jimmie and Brenda Blanton of Kings Mountain. She attends Presbyterian on a scholar- ship from Cleveland Memorial Hospital. McBee To Attend O'Brian Conference Monika D. McBee has been nominated to represent Kings J Mountain High School as am- bassador in the annual Hugh OO" Brian Leadership i Conference.
