C. by Dr. John Sloan and Rev. Larry Carter. Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Wife of Olin D. Smith, she was a native of Spartanburg, S. C., daughter of Buford L. and Eleanor Wheelon Abernathy of the Rainbow Lake Community. She was a former resident of Pacolet, S. C. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain and was a former member and Sunday School teacher at Croft Baptist Church in Spartanburg. Production Planning Supervisor at R. R. Donnelley & Sons and for- mer Executive Secretary with Piedmont Press, she was a former member of Professional Secretaries International, served as president of the Spartanburg Chapter from 1974-75 and was "Secretary of the Year" in 1978. She also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Division of Professional Secretaries International for several years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She received the "Highest Honor Graduate" award from Spartanburg Methodist College in 1984, where she eamed her Associate Degree in Supervisory Management. She was Salutatorian of Boiling Springs High School Class of 1965. Surviving, in addition to her husband and parents, are two sons, Jeffrey Smith, a student at Clemson University, and Travis Smith, of the home; and a brother, Wilford Abemathy of Asheville. RUNE SWANSSON Graveside services for Rune A. H. Swansson, 84, of 109 Dixon School Road, who died March 12,1991 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Friday at 4 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery in Shelby by Rev. Fred Mauney. A floral wholesaler, he was a na- tive of Sweden. He was married to the late Mary Doan Allen Swansson and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, James H. Swansson of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Owens of Camden, S. C.; two brothers, Gunnar Swansson of Sweden and Harry Swansson of Chicago, Ill.; one sister,Tovi Sanilius of Sweden and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 until 9 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home. DUSTIN SELLERS Dustin Colt Sellers, infant son of Eric and Shannon Yarbro Sellers, died Friday, March 18, 1991 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandpar- ents, Ned and Scottie Yarbro; and his paternal grandparents, Gene and Thelma Sellers. A private memorial service was held. DONALD FISHER Donald Fisher, 50, of 809 First Street, Kings Mountain, died March 9, 1991 at 12:15 p.m. at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Kings Mountain, he was the son of the late Joseph David and Pearlie Mae Tiller Fisher. He was a textile employee. He was a 1960 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, where he was an All-Conference quarterback and Most Valuable Player on the 1959 Southwestern 3-A Conference champion Mountaineer football team. He is survived by his son, Monte Huffstetler; two brothers, Allen Fisher of Kings Mountain and Guy Fisher of Winston Salem; and six sisters, Lula Mae Terry, Beatrice Long and Elsie Dixon, all of Kings Mountain, Lois Brown of Gastonia, Peggy Fipps of Brunswick, Ga. and Elizabeth Ven Clovas of Decatur, Ga. The funeral was conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Harris Chapel by the Rev. Frank Gordon. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. ELIZABETH R. TALBERT Elizabeth Rohm Talbert, 98, of Route 1, Kings Mountain, died March 9, 1991 at 11:30 a.m. at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Issac and Rebecca Foster Rohm and wife of the late Floyd G. Talbert. She was a member of Bethany A.R.P. Church in Clover, SC. James Talbert of Greensboro; three daughters, Ruth Taylor and Carolyn Messer of Kings Mountain and Catherine Ross of Ranlo; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchil- dren; and one great-great-grand- child. The funeral was conducted Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home by the Revs. George Lauderdale and James Talbert. Burial was in the Long Creek Presbyterian Church cemetery. KIMBERLY DEITZ BESSEMER CITY - Kimberly Ann Deitz, 31, of Route 2, Box 627, died March 9, 1991 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of Paul Farris of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Nelta Wilson Farnsworth of Charlotte. She was employed as a technician with Watson Insurance Co. of Gastonia. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Rodney Dale Deitz of the home; one son, Brent Deitz of the home; two daughters, Casey Lynne Deitz and Lori Deitz of the home; two broth- ers, Richard Farris of Cherryville and Tim Farris of Charlotte; one sister, Cindy Monteith of Charlotte; and her maternal grandmother, Annie Mae Farnsworth of Cherryville. BRANDON JIMSON Youth choir honors Brandon Jimison, 5 The Youth Choir of Long Branch Baptist Church of Grover sponsored a benefit program for five-year-old Brandon Jimson March 3. Mark, who is ill, is the son of Mark and Tina Jimson. Special music was presented by young people from various church- es. Churches, industries and lodges participated. Directors of Long Branch Choir are Mrs. Rachel Reid, Mrs. Louise Black, Mrs. Deborah Smarr, Mrs. Trina Adams and Ms. Sharon Camp. Pastor is Rev. Larry Dixon. SCHOLARSHIP-Ricky White, 17, who ranks second in his gradu- ating class at Bessemer City High School, has won a $6,000 scholar- ship from National Association of Recording Merchandisers which represents the recorded music in- dustry. White's parents, Rick and Kathy White of Gastonia, are employees of Philips and DuPont Optical. Employees children are eligible for the scholarship.
