Talent show Friday at Barnes "Downhome" talent will be the program Friday night at 7 p.m. at B. N. Barnes Auditorium. A vari- ety of entertainment will be pre- sented in a two-hour program sponsored by KM Parks & Recreation. "For the donation of $1 to the recreation program you will enjoy a fun-filled evening of entertain- ment for the whole family and by people you know," says Denice Falls of the Parks & Recreation Committee, There will be no prizes offered The students pictured above made the straight A honor roll for but Falls says all competitors are prize winners. Falls says her sign-up list of en- tertainers is growing. Some of the performers will be KMHS teacher Craig Mayes, who will present a comedy routine; Jimmy Maney, Eric Wright, Heidi Hamrick, Jeff Putnam, who will sing; Erin Lovelace, Chastity Moss, Anne Marie Senter, and Heather Melton, who will dance; Andrew Gregory will present a clogging routine and Chastity Moss and Mindy Reynolds will present a gymnastic public. the third weeks grading period at East School. Falls said the city recreation de- partment is planning a special event each month and next month a gospel group will perform for the Program at CCC Cleveland Community College will present an original production entitled "The Flip Side of Drinking" on Wednesday, May 22, 12 noon, in the College auditorium. Written by Virginia Greene DePriest and the students in the College drama class, the skit is concerned with the periods of drinking and driving. Featured are CCC students Linda McDaniel, Margot Moshier, Hope Sheets, Dale Collins, and Chris Rabb. There will be a statistical informa- tion sharing session on drinking and driving in Cleveland County, as well as a question and answer period, at the end of the half hour presentation which is free and open to the public. ; Concerned citizens are urged to attend. Hamrick Jr., both of Kings Mountain, graduated Saturday from North Carolina State University. Womble received a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering.
