Page 8B-THE KINGS MOU} TAIN HERA FOOTBALL From Page 2-B Antwan Brown) to guard and sce if we can get two out of those three to do the job for us. They're not big but they're fairly quick and we think by working hard they can help us out at that position. "Then," he added, "We're going to move Eugene Morgan back to tight end. He just has to play there. He has not played as well as we'd like for him to when we've asked him to go both ways. We haven't been able to block defensive ends and that's something we have to be able to do in our offense. He said he was willing to accept the chal- lenge. If we can solidify those three positions, we should get bet- ter.” Hicks said the Mountaineers will have to get better running and blocking, and also turn the kicking game around in order to compete with a very talented R-S Central team this week. "They are a real productive of- fensive team," he said. "They've got a great running back in Jermaine Twitty and their quarter- back, David Huss, is a real solid athlete. He runs and throws real well. They're going to get two touchdowns. You have to figure that unless. we have an unbelievable defensive night. "Defensively, they're hard work- ers," he added. "They don't make many mistakes. They're probably one of the purest technique teams that we play. They're real sound. They may not have as good ath- letes as a lot of folks we play but they beat you on being fundamen- tally sound. All of their kids give a maximum effort on every play." Despite the poor showing in their first four games, and especial- ly the last two, Hicks urges Mountaineer fans not to give up on the team. "I still feel like that once we put it together we'll be a very exciting football team," he said. "We're not necessarily the fastest or the biggest but we have some good kids and things just haven't fallen into place for them yet. We're at the point where we can't wait much longer. But I just wouldn't give up on them yet. If things come togeth- er we're going to finish real strong." SWC STANDINGS Teams Conf.
