The Pantry, 511 Linwood Rd., reported larceny of six cartons of cigarettes. City of Kings Mountain reported . three people passed U.S. Treasury checks and obtained cash by false pretense. James Alvin Depew, 404 Maner Rd, reported damage to a 10-speed bicycle at the KMHS football field. Norma Sue Moore, Route 1, re- ported that her automobile was damaged $300 while parked at the American Legion. Ronald Eugene Humphries, 913 Sharon Drive, reported theft of as- sorted jewelry, stereo speakers and assorted compact discs from his automobile. Linwood Auto Sales, Linwood Rd., reported theft of beauty rings valued at $150. WRECKS SEPTEMBER 24 A hit and run vehicle damaged a parked1989 Chevrolet SW owned by Bobby Gene Parker, Route 4, doing $300 damage. SEPTEMBER 25 A four-car wreck on Phifer Road involved four teenage drivers and resulted in three minor injuries and $5,800 property damages, accord- ing to Ptl. Donald Martin. The offi- cer said two of the vehicles were stopped in the northbound lane of Phifer Road. The 16-year-old driv- er of a 1977 Ford said he looked off the roadway, looked back and applied his brakes which locked up, sliding his vehicle into a 1988 Ford and causing a chain reaction with the other two cars, 1968 VW and a 1987 Pontiac.
