| Religion Page 2A-THE KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thursday, October 24, 1991 Baptist Association to meet The Kings Mountain Baptist Association will hold its 141st Annual Mecting on Monday and Tuesday, October 28-29. The Monday night session’ will begin at 6:45 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church, Shelby. Special music will be presented by a choir com- posed of Ministers of Music who serve in churches throughout the association. Rev. Charlton Bozard, Music Director of Boiling Springs Baptist Church and Associational Music Director will lead the choir. Ncw pastors and staff persons will be introduced to the association. Organizational reports will be pre- sented as well as a report from the Interim Director of Missions, Rev. Sam Snyder. The message for the cvening will be presented by Moderator Joe Cabaniss, Chairman of Cleveland County Commission- ers and local business man. Church Activities or inter, HM Boyce ARP is planning a Fall Festival Oct. 31 with supper at 6 p.m. There will be special booths for children of all ages. For more information, call 739- 4917. BM A Hallelujah party for preschoolers and first grade through sixth graders will be held Oct. 31 at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church. The BYW will sell hot dogs at 6 p.m. for $1 and drinks for 50 cents. The profits will go to mission projects. Dress in a hiblical costume for a contest. There will be games for children. For more information, call 739- 3651. o Dr. Eddie West, Superintendent of Gaston County Schools, will fill the pulpit at Sunday morning's 11 a.m. worship service at Dixon Presbyterian Church. Obituaries H Sunday, Oct. 27, the youth of Central United Methodist will trick-or-treat at homes for canned food for Thanksgiving from 2 to § p.m. If you would like for them to come to your house, please fill out a form in the church office, bulletin insert or call. The food will be di- vided and turkey will be bought to go with the food. For more information, call 739- 2471. HM Fall Fest is Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church. The monthly fellowship meal will begin at 6 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m. There will be activities for adults as well as chil- dren. The cost is $1 for K-6th grades and $2 for older children and adults. Each adult should bring one bag of candy to make treats for the children. Also, cakes are need- ed for the cake walk. For more information, call 739- 4833. MARY SELLERS BESSEMER CITY - Mary Ella Sellers;--102, of 5508 Dallas- Cherryville Highway, died October 20, 1991, at her home. She was a native of Cleveland County and a homemaker. She is survived by five sons, Earl Sellers and Walter Sellers of Cherryville, Chapman and J.L. Sellers of Kings Mountain, and Charles Sellers of Lincolnton; four daughters, Ruth Hoyle and Edna Craft of Cherryville, Margie Bess of King Mountain and Mary Jackson of Bessemer City; a broth- er, Ernest Sellers of Cherryville; two sisters, Lorene Sellers of Kings Mountain and Gladys Stroup of Waco; 23 grandchildren; 33 . great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Tuesday ‘at 2 p.m.-at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church, "Challenge to Build Fund," Route 5, Box 462, Cherryville 28021. MITCHELL GIBSON Mitchell Dean Gibson, 30, of 310 Edell Street, Kings Mountain, died October 21, 1991 at his home. A native of Cherokee County, S.C., he was employed as a fuel at- tendant at Road King Truck Stop. He attended First Church of the ‘Nazarene. Ji “He was the son of the late Betty Sue Mabry and Paul Franklin Gibson Sr. of Gaffney, S.C. In ad- dition to his father, he is survived by two brothers, David Gibson of Gaffney and Steve Gibson of Fort Mill, and one sister, Judy Anne Ray of Cowpens. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mountain ‘Rest Cemetery. Rev. Scott Wade and Rev. Blanchard Horne will of- ficiate.
