Piedmont Ave., dicd December 49, 1991 at home. = A native of Cleveland County, he was married to Marcilla Ross Falls, who survives, and was son of the late M. M. and Sarah E. Wilkins Falls. He was a member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church and a retired twister operator at Dover industries. : Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Robert Earl Falls Jr. and John Morgan, both of Kings Mountain; six daughters, Jearlene Ware, Joyce Kale, Rae Goforth, Sandra Morgan, all of Kings Mountain, Sarah Patterson of Seneca, S. C. and Beverly Caldwell of Rock Hill, S.C.; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchil- dren and three step great-grand- children. : The funeral was conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Patterson Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Richard Plyler. Burial was in the church cemetery. CLAUD TEETER {OAKBORO - Claud Eugene Teeter, 85, of 108 East Ninth ~ Street, died Tuesday, December 17, 1991 at Stanly Memorial Hospital in Albemarle. A native of Stanly County, he was the son of the late A.M. and Mary Cagle Teeter. He was owner of C.E. Teeter Store in Oakboro and had been mayor of Oakboro for 12 years. He was a member of Qakboro First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nell Hayes Teeter, formerly of Kings Mountain; one son, Chip Teeter of Walnut Creek, California; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Eagleton of Bethesda, Md., and Mrs. Jane Atkins of Richmond, Va.; one sis- ter, Mrs. Crotsey Furr of Oakboro; and seven grandchildren. A memorial serivce was held Friday at 3 p.m. at Oakboro First Baptist Church. Rev. Mark King officiated and interment was in Oakboro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 921 North Third Street, Albemarle, N.C. 28001. MARVIN BYARS Marvin Byars, 79, of 102 N. Garrison Avenue, King Mountain, died December 21, 1991 at his home. A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late William Rufus and Mattie Moore Byars. He was a retired carpenter and a mem- ber of Central United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Thornburg Byars of the home; one son, Bobby Byars of - Kings Mountain; four daughters, Mrs. Jane Gilbert, Mrs. Anne Green, Mrs. Dale Wright and Mrs. Sue Jean McCluney, all of Kings Mountain; one brother, Evans Byars of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Mrs. Loni Smith of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Pearl Falls of Gastonia; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Bob Little and Dale Thornburg Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church. Burial was in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. BEATRICE McSWAIN Mrs. Beatrice Lowery McSwain, 76, of 107 Bea's Place, died December 19, 1991 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Brenda Haynes, 808 Borders Road. A native of Cleveland County, she was a retired salesperson for Hudson's House of Fabrics and a Beg Twa children tell Santa Claus what they'd like to have for Christmas when they visited a local Christmas tree lot. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Haynes and Mrs. Karen Dimsdale, both of Shelby; four grandchildren, Kim Bailes, Todd Bailes, Joshua Dimsdale, and Jason Dimsdale, all of Shelby; and two sisters, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Harmon and Mrs. Dorothy Crotts, both of Kings Mountain. The funeral was conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Dan Wallace. Burial was in Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 201 W. Marion St, Shelby, 28150. JAMES L. THORNBURG MENTOR, OHIO - James Labon Thornburg, 79, -of 9226 Jackson St., died December 20, 1991 at Geague Hospital, Claridon Ohio. A native of Kings Mountain, he was son of the late Miller Lee and Zinnie Randall Thornburg and was to Evelyn Blanton Thornburg, who survives. He was retired stockroom atten- dant with Elwell-Parker Electric Co. in Cleveland, Ohio and served in the Navy during World War II. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Danny L. Thornburg and William Thornburg, both of Mentor, and Steve Thornburg of Arlington, Tennessee; one brother, Rev. J. J. CLYDE BRIDGES Clyde "Whitey" Bridges, 70, of 901 N. Cansler St., died December 20, 1991 at Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Mrs. Carric Allman Bridges of Kings Mountain and the late Charles Lee Bridges. He was married to Margie Barrett Bridges, who survives. A retired plant manager of Kings Mountain Concrete Supply Plant, he was a member of First Wesleyan Church and received the Purple ~Heart and Bronze Star while serv="" ing in World War II with the 507th Paratroop Division. Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are two sons, David Bridges of Oxford and Jay Bridges of Kings Mountain; and thrce grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church. Rev. Mark Bardsley, Rev. Jack Phillips and Rev. John Harris officiated. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church building fund.
