7 2 ISOBEL D. SAUNDERS Mrs. Lottie Isobel Diffee Saunders, 92, of 104 S. Gaston St., died December 27, 1991 at Carolina Carc Center in Cherryville. A native of Randolph County, she was the widow of David L. Saunders and daughter of the SBN late Angus Herbert - and Martha Louise Lambeth Diffee. She was retired co-owner of - Saunders . Dry. Cleaners. A life member of United Methodist Church Women, she was a member of Central United Methodist Church and Kings Mountain Chapter 123, Order of the Eastern Star, Surviving are one son, David D. Saunders of Kings Mountain; one brother, James Diffee of Troy; one sister, Blanch D. Britt of Seneca, S.C.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral was conducted Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church by Rev. Robert Little. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. BESSIE PEARL KIRK Mrs. Bessie Pearl Kirk, 92, of Route 1, died December 27, 1991 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Ponca, Nebraska, she was widow of Arthur M. Kirk and daughter of the late Frank and Mary Merritt Putnam. She was a retired nursing assistant at Elms Nursing Center, Ponca, Nebraska. She was a member of Carson Memorial Baptist Church, Surviving are one son, Rev. Wayne Kirk of Kings Mountain; one brother, Howard Putnam of Riverside, California; four grand- children and six great-grandchil- dren, The funeral was conducted Saturday night at 8 p.m. at Carson Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Gene Cole officiated. Burial was in Ponca Cemetery in Ponca, Nebraska, Memorials may be made to " Carson Memorial Baptist Church, Route 1 Box 77, Kings Mountain, 28086. : GEORGE BRADSHAW SANFORD - George Elliott Bradshaw, 60, of 3317 Lemon Springs Rd., former resident of Kings Mountain, died December 27, 1991 at home, A native of Fort Mill, S.C., he was married to Peggy Ann Lawrence Bradshaw, who survives, and was a graduate of Fruitland Bible Institute and a veteran of the U. S. Navy. _ Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son, George E. Bradshaw Jr. of Bessemer City; Baptist Church. Dr. two stepsons, Ronald Turner and Robert Fulton, both of Sanford; two daughters, Linda Stevens of Charlotte and Karen Troutman of Wilmington; two stepdaughters, Carol Thomas and Maric Thomas, both of Sanford; one brother, Floyd Bradshaw of Fort Mill, S. C.; one sister, Edna Bryant of Fort Mill, S. C.; five grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bridges- Cameron Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. CHERRYVILLE - Mrs. Bertha Louise Sisk, 73, of Allen Street, died December 29, 1991 at home. A native of Gaston County, she was married to Lester A. Sisk, who survives, and was daughter of the late Clemmie Alonzo and Annie Beattie Self. She was a member of Mary's Grove United Methodist Church. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one son, Charles F.Sisk of Lincolnton; two sisters, Pauline Self and Madge Holland, both of Cherryville; two grandchil- dren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mary's Grove United Methodist Church. Rev. Larry Rowell and Chaplain Jack Cooke officiated. Burial was in City Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mary's Grove United Methodist Church, Route 3, Kings Mountain, 28086. SHIRLEY HIGHTOWER GASTONIA - Shirley McIntosh Hightower, 54, of 512 S. Trenton St., died December 26,1991 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Kings Mountain, she was married to Max M. Hightower, who survives, and was daughter of the late Chalmer and Lillie Ledford Mcintosh. She was a retired cleri- cal employee and a member of East Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition’ to her husband, are one son, Allen Slaughter Jr. of Mineral Springs, West Virginia; one stepdaughter, Donna Raye Taylor of Charlotte; and three grandchildren. The funeral service was con- ducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at East Winecoff officiated. Burial was in Gaston Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to East Baptist Church building fund, 114 N. Church St., Gastonia. JEFFREY SCOTT WILSON BESSEMER CITY - Jeffrey Scott Wilson, 20, of Route 2 Box 473, died December 25, 1991. A native of Camden, S.C., he was the son of Dennis and Sylvia Dean Rochester Wilson of Bessemer City and was a construc- tion worker. : Surviving, in addition to his par- ents, are two brothers, Robert Wilson of Kings Mountain and Robezt Michael Gene Wilson of Bessemer City; and one sister, Tonya Drum of Bessemer City. The graveside service was con- ducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery by Rev. Billy Bowen. FRED BOWERS Fred Bowers, 72, of 1004 Linwood Road, died December 24, 1991 at home. A native of Kings Mountain, he was the son of the late Roy and Cora Lee Wallace Bowers. He was married to Bennie Hillebrand Bowers, who survives. He was a member of East Gold Street Wesleyan Church and a re- tired weave room supervisor. «+ Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Becky Cox and Julia Nichols, both of Kings Mountain; one brother, Earl Bowers of Rutherfordton; one half- brother, Stanley Bowers of Salisbury; one sister, Lorena Long of Kings Mountain;and one grand- child. The funeral was conducted December 26 at 3 p.m. at East Gold Street Wesleyan Church. Rev. Harold Bumby and Rev. Leroy Cox officiated. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. EUNICE WARE WILMINGTON - Eunice Falls Ware, 90. of 515 Larchmount Ave., died December 24, 1991 at Davis Health Care Center after an extend- ed illness. Mrs. Ware was born November 19, 1901 in Kings Mountain, where she lived for many years and taught in the church school as well as the public schools. She served as president of the Women's Society of Christian Service and as Cleveland County president of the Home Demonstration Clubs. She held other offices in the Kings Mountain Home Demonstration Club and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was daughter of the late Albert Price and Sarah Elizabeth Patterson Falls and was married to Amold Hunter Ware, of Davis Health Care Center, who survives. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one daughter, Mrs. Betty Wentz of the home; one grandson, James Ira Wentz Jr. of Greensboro; one granddaughter, Barbara O' Neal and her husband, Elliott O'Neal Jr. of Wilmington; two great-grandsons, James Elliot O' Neal ‘and William’ Christophe O'Neal, both of Wilmington; one brother, Alvin Hugh Falls and one sister, Laura Janet Falls, both of Kings Mountain. The funeral was conducted December 27 at 2 p.m. at Harris Chapel. Rev. Bob Little officiated. Burial was in Patterson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charitable organization of one's choice. BEULAH BRENDLE Beulah McMillen Brendle, 69, of 804 Boyce St., died December 31, 1991 at home. She was a retired textile cmployee. Surviving arc two sons, Jimmy Brendle and Bobby Brendle, both of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Linda Brendle of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Willis McMillen and Olen McMillen, both of Gastonia; three sisters, Blanche McIntosh, Alma McIntosh and Bonnie Todd, all of Gastonia; seven grandchil- dren and one great-grandchild. The funeral service will be con- ducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Harris Chapel by Rev. Larry Stevens. Burial will "be “in Mountain Rest Cemetery. CHALMER MCcINTOSH Chalmer McIntosh, 85, of 220 McGill Court, died December 23, 1991 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late Jeff B. and Lillie Robinson McIntosh. His wife was the late Lillie Ledford McIntosh. He was a retired textile employee. Surviving are one sister, Nole Thompson of Norwood; one grand- child and three great-grandchil- dren. The graveside service was con- ducted December 26, 1991 at 11 a.m. at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery by Dr. Robert Winecoff. ROBERT H. SPARROW Robert Henry Sparrow, 78, of No. 9 Mountain View Apartments, died December 30, 1991 at home. A native of Cleveland County, he was son of the late J. V. and Sarah Elizabeth Morrison Sparrow and was widower of Sarah Elizabeth Perkey Sparrow. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a veteran of World War II Army service. Surviving are one son, Bruce Sparrow of Stanley; three sisters, Pearl Elizabeth Sparrow and Mary Lee White, both of Shelby, and Lula Findley of Gaffney, S.C. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Scott Wade and Rev. Blanchard Horne will of- ficiate. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
