Teachers of the Month named Four Kings Mountain Middle School teachers were honored re- cently as "Teacher of the Month." The award honors the teacher for dedication and commitment to edu- cating children. Area merchants present prizes to the honored teach- er. At the school the honored teach- er receives a reserved parking space, a special chair and "Teacher of the Month" door decorations in the classroom. September Teacher of the Month ! ALBERGINE GRIGG Candy Albergine has taught 201/2 COOK Month was Reca Wright, 8th grade academic teacher in her 7th year as an educator who worked formerly at Central, KMHS and KM Junior High Schools. Her husband, Tommy, teaches at Grover School. She is the daughter of Reba Lankford and sister of Ronnie, Debbie and Denise. Wright main- tains that in an ever-changing fast- paced society that teachers must be flexible enough to experiment with new trends in education as well as retain the old standbys. She said WRIGHT years. Her family includes her mother, one sister, one brother, three nieces, two nephews and a three year old miniature Snauzer "Abby." As a teacher of Health and Physical Education, Albergine says teachers need to teach the basics but also social skills such as re- sponsibility, cooperation and sportsmanship. She has a good time with her kids, she says, want- ing them to enjoy class and feel good about what they accomplish when they leave class. October Teacher of the Month Bob Grigg, 6th grade academic teacher, is in his fourth year of teaching. He previously worked as a cost accountant for 10 years. He and his wife, Peggy, have two sons, Matthew and Joshua. Grigg says he can best serve children by pro- viding them with all the necessary information they deserve during class time. At the same time, he says students should see his eamest desire for them to succeed in a warm and caring atmosphere. November Teacher of the Month Cynthia Cook, 7th grade academic teacher, believes that an education should be the most important goal in a person's life. To qualify for the Chancellor's List, a student must complete at least 12 semester hours with grades ble education. She believes work- ing together can make a difference. Cook has five years experience in the classroom and previously taught two years in Rutherford County and one year at Central School. Her family includes her brother, Warren, and her parents, Warren and Faye Cook. . December's Teacher of the teachers must continually learn, not only from formal schooling but from the students and says that teachers must realize student needs and try to comply with those needs.
