Ti al a dh Sw a i CHURCH WOMEN - Kings Mountain Council of Church Women is planning the annual dinner meet- ing to be held May 1 at First Baptist Church. Church women support KM Crisis Ministry Since its organization in 1986 women from eight churches in the Kings Mountain Council = of Church Women have given $1,602.60 to support the Crisis Ministry, a Bible teacher in the schools, tor- nado victims through dona- tions to the American Red Cross, and the Literacy Council. Jan Neisler, a leader in the Council, says that all offerings received at annual meetings go to local chari- ties. This year's offering on May 7 at First Baptist Church will be received for the Crisis Ministry and oth- er community charities. The May 7 dinner is open to all women in the eight sponsoring churches and to guests. First Baptist Church will seat 250 people for dinner and Neisler hopes this year's event will attract its biggest crowd ev- er. Sponsoring churches are . First Baptist, Kings Mountain Baptist, Boyce Memorial ARP, Central United Methodist, Christ the King Catholic, First Presbyterian, and’ Resurrection and St. Matthew's Lutheran Churches. Tickets, now on sale at $5, are available at the sponsoring church offices. Karolyn Chapman of Winston-Salem, a popular motivational and inspira- tional speaker to church women's groups and a lead- er for seminars on motiva- tion, will be the guest speaker at 6:30 p.m. Two members from each of the sponsoring churches serve on the plan- ning committee which met Thursday night at First Baptist Church to complete the program for the event.
