ERIC BRADLEY JONES Kincaid-Jones Mr. and Mrs. Eric Bradley Jones, who were wed Saturday, are on a cruise to the Southern Caribbean and afterwards will reside in Jacksonville, Florida. Kimberly Celene Kincaid became Jones' bride in Hickory Grove Baptist Church of Charlotte. Rev. Joe B. Brown officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony. The wedding mu- sic was presented by Mrs. Marvelyn Headrick, pianist/organist; Kelly Black, soloist; and Randy Gish, trumpeter. A flute trio was composed of Julie Ashley, Mrs. Maria Carr and Mrs. Cindy Kiracofe. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She wore an elegant gown of white satin designed with a Sweetheart neckline, short, puffed, beaded sleeves and Basque waistline. The bodice, neckline, and skirt were trimmed with silk imported lace, seed pearls, and iridescent se- quins. Beaded lace motifs enhanced the Cathedral-length train. She car- ried a bouquet of white and fushia Sweetheart roses accented with baby's breath and amethyst Kaspia. Mrs. Annette Lloyd of Independence, MO was matron of honor and Shelley Smith of Charlotte was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Julie Ashley of Chapel Hill, Mrs. Cheryl Bowman of Winston- Salem, Mrs. Maria Carr of Pittsburg, PA, Michele Halby of Greenville, Mrs. Cynthia Kiracofe of Lenoir, and Mrs. Rebecca MaWhirter of Independence, MO. The attendants wore amethyst tea-length dresses with short, puffed sleeves of satin and lace. They carried bouquets of dark pink roses, white carnations, baby's breath and purple Statis. Madelyn Lloyd of Independence, MO was flower girl. Tyler Scruggs of Kings Mountain was ringbearer. The bridegroom's father was best man. Ushers were Ken Allen of Greensboro, Randy Carbone of North Bellmore, NY, Richard Gold of Gastonia, Dave Lovelace of Kings Mountain, Mark Scruggs of Belmont, and David Thomas of Matthews. The bride's parents hosted the reception after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Friday night at Charlotte's University Hilton in the Glennwaters Room overlooking the lake. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Smith of Charlotte are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred H. Dube of Corpus Cristi, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Peterson of Independence, MO, Mrs. Pansy Smith of Lenoir and Mrs. Ruth Kincaid of Golden City, MO. She is great-granddaughter of Mrs. Dorothy Dube of Peterborough, NH. She attended Independence High School and graduated with a degree in medical technology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was formerly employed by Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, Va. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby G. Jones of Kings Mountain and grandson of Mrs. Mary Jones of Shelby and Mrs. Frankie Tobias of Kings Mountain. He attended Kings Mountain High School and graduated with a degree in business from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Formerly employed by Furash and Company in Washington, D.C., he recently began employment with Barnett Bank MRS. STEVE GANTT Weavil-Gantt Mr. and Mrs. Steve Gantt, who were wed Saturday, are on a wedding trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and afterwards will be at home at 207 Yorktown Rd., Kemersville. Kathy Weavil became Gantt's bride in a 5 p.m. wedding in Queen Anne Ballroom of The Radisson Hotel in High Point. Rev. William Dills officiated the double-ring ceremony for which mu- sic was presented by Sound FX of Greensboro for both the nuptials and the reception dinner-dance after the ceremony. The elegant black and white motif was featured in decorative details. The bride and bridegroom entered the ballroom together. The bride wore a black sequined sheath gown featuring puff sleeves. She carried a bouquet of white flowers. ~ Deborah Henry attended the bride as maid of honor. Bobbie Gantt, daughter of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. Honorary attendants were Angie Neal, Bobbie Neal and Phyllis Thompson. Flower girl was Anastasia Bucholtz. All the attendants wore black and white formals and carried white nosegays. Capping ceremony at K Capping ceremonies for Kings sented appreciation certificates to Mountain Hospital's Junior 30 volunteers. Auxiliary was a first Saturday for the hospital. Receiving certificates for 40 hours of volunteer service were Micki Black, Lori Edwards, Edie Hicks, Danielle Nolen, Jennifer Sloan, and Nicole Campbeli. Six young people receive 40- hour pin§ and five young people received 50-hour volunteer pins. They also received candy-stripe red caps to match their uniforms. Mrs. Linda Hayes was the speaker. Senior Aimee Powell and sixth grader Neal Rainey earned a grade point average of 3.67 with no grade below a B to qualify for the honor roll. Ninth grader Brandon Patterson, eighth grader Bobby Webster, and seventii grader Aaron Patterson earned a grade point average of | 3.00 with no grade below a C to qualify for the merit roll.
