Page 2 » The Good News - Wednesday, May 6, 1992 Rick Gage is on his way to Kings Mountain Rick Gage is coming to Kings Mountain and the city is ready for him. For over a year now, 40 churches in the area have been preparing for his cru- sade May 10 through 13 at John Gamble Stadium. "We would like to see 3,000 people per night," said crusade chairman Rev. David Philbeck of Macedonia Baptist Church. Gage, who was called into preaching from coach- ing college football, has been involved in over 200 crusades in five years all over the nation. He has spo- ken to over a million teens in the schools with his "On Track” program. Gage will speak to Kings Mountain students in the schools while visiting here. Philbeck said that the telephone committee, one of many set up for the cru- sade, has been calling every listing in the phone book. And every Tuesday morning a prayer meeting has been held for the cru- sade open to the public at East Gold Wesleyan Church. The committees were put in place a year ago, Philbeck said. "We tried to make it as ecumenical as we could,” he said. A Youth Rally will be held Saturday, May 9, at Central School at 7 p.m. as a prelude to the crusade. Sunday night will be Church High Attendance night; Monday night is Sunday School Attendance night; Tuesday night is Friends night; and Wednesday night is desig- nated Youth night.
