INCIDENTS Jeanette Turner, 525 Kilgore Rd., reported that her car was dam- aged $200 while parked at 102 Carpenter Street. Troy Allison, Kilgore Road, rc- ported that someone broke into his car and took a Roadmaster radar system, $179 worth of speakers, and an ashtray. Margaret Roscboro, 107 N. City St., reported larceny of plastic lawn chairs valued at $28. Kenneth Owens, 607 Gantt St., reported that someone broke out the glass in his front door. Gene's Sport Cards & Comics, 104B W. King St., reported that someone broke two window panes in his front door with a piece of cinder block. The Pantry, Linwood Road, re- ported larceny of snack cakes and chips. Pat Plonk, 118 N. Piedmont Ave., reported theft of a portable car phone, discs, and a cigarette lighter from her car. A five-year-old child was scratched by a cat at 212 Fulton Street. The child was treated at the hospital and released. Harris Teeter, King Street, report two checks written on closed ac- counts for 225.92 and $71.48. Two juveniles were fighting while walking home from school. Parents declined to prosecute. The Pantry, Cleveland Ave., re- ported larceny of $10.01 worth of gasoline. Six KMHS band students report- ed that money was taken from their purses left in the band room. Eckerd Drug Store reported that a customer attempted to forge two prescriptions, asking for a larger amount of drugs than prescribed. Dewayne Webb, 125 Pineland Ave., Shelby, reported that his car was damaged and $250 worth of speakers stolen. The car was parked at Mauney Hosiery Mill. David Fredell, Route 3, reported that his car was rocked on North Cansler Street. A brown pill bottle containing 10 pink pills and a quantity of BMP 140 were found at the dead end portion of Gaston Street. Danielle Lowry, 14 Georgetown Apt., reported theft of a Huffy pur- ple and turquoise bicycle. Danny McDowell, 1716 Northwoods, reported that his yard ‘was damaged by a vehicle which left the scene. WRECKS APRIL 11 A bump-up on S. Battleground Avenue involved cars operated by Rita Cunningham, of Bessemer City, which struck a 1990 Nissan operated by Faye E. Payscur, 609 Linwood Road. Payscur told Ptl. D. F. Crowe that she was inside the Minit Grill when the accident oc- curred. When she returned home, she said she found a note on her windshicld from Cunningham ad- vising that the rear bumper had been damaged. A vehicle left the scene after damaging a 1978 GMC truck $400 in the Winn- Dixie Parking Lot. The truck was owned by Thurman Eugene Tignor, 413 Scotland Drive. A 1983 Olds operated by Denorris Wilson Jr, 245 Branchwood Circle, rear-ended a 1991 Chevrolet SW operated by Robert Peter Williams, of Charlotte, doing a total of $300. damage. The accident happened at the intersection of King and Cansler Streets. A 1990 Dodge operated by a 16- year-old driver and a 1981 Ford operated by Thomas Edward Dover, 310 Second Street, were in- volved in a wreck which resulted in $2500 damage to the car owned by Carolyn Mitchem Jones and $500 to the Dover vehicle. Pil. D. F. Crow said Dover was traveling south down north Sims Street. The teenager attempted to turn left from a parked position on the shoulder of the road at Davidson Park and struck the Dover vehicle.
