five bags of a white powdery sub-
stance believed to be cocaine. No
arrests have been made.

possession, citation.
Thomas Lamonte McLaughlin,
19, South Main St., Waco, was ar-
rested at Pine Manor Apartments
after police found a 380 Davis se-
mi-automatic handgun loaded and
concealed in a waste pack under-
neath the passenger seat of his car.
The handgun was seized. The driv-
er was cited for carrying a con-
cealed weapon.

S. Lafayette St., Shelby, carrying
concealed weapon, citation.
Officers seized a sawed-off Ruger
22 caliber rifle.

possession of Schedule 6, marijua-
na, with intent to sell and deliver,
$1,000 bond, secured. Police found
four small bags of Schedule 6 in
her car. Ptl. Garris also found a
small bag of marijuana in the sus-
pect's left pocket. The total amount
of the cache was 3/4 ounce.

Wilson Terrace.
Handy Pantry, 225 Cleveland
Avenue, was robbed by a suspect
pointing a weapon Monday. morn-
ing at 3 a.m. Two white males en-
tered the store and demanded mon-
ey from the clerk, according to
police reports. One suspect is de-
scribed as a 20-year-old man five
feet eight inches tall with brown
hair and brown eyes and of medi-
um build. He was wearing an
Army coat and blue jeans. The oth-
er suspect was described as a 17-
year-old man wearing a dark col-
ored windbreaker and a red ball
cap with "love" tattooed on the
knuckles of his right hand.
David Clinton Brown, 902
Grace St., reported that two vehi-
cles were damaged at his resi-
dence. He said that $300 damage
was done to a 1987 Imark Isuzu
and $500 to a 1990 Isuzu truck.
A 13-year-old white female was
reportedly slapped by a friend of
her mother. Police advised war-
rants but prosecution was denied.
Lois Greene, 111 Lovelace
Road, reported theft of a handicap
tag from her 1988 Ford.
Charles William Davis, 1900
Alpine Drive, told police that a
suspect in a 1979 Ford ElComino
pointed a weapon at him and fired
a.38 Special and a 32 semi-auto-
matic at vehicles at Carolina
Garden Apartments. Police arrest-
ed Charles Edward Blalock Jr., 56,
of 833 Bethlehem Road, and
charged him with two counts of
carrying a concealed weapon and
discharging firearms in the city
limits. Blalock's $200 bond was se-
cured.
Michael James Freeman, 109 S.
Deal St., reported that someone
took a $700 disc player, 200 watt
amps valued at $600, and did $600
damage to his 1987 custom van.
Freeman said vandals damaged the
sliding door on a console television
set behind the driver's seat of the
van.

Two women refused medical
treatment after they claimed mutu-
al assault at Kings Mountain Plaza
and also refused to press charges
against each other. One of the
women is pregnant and complained
_ of pain in her side. The other wom-
an had claw marks on her neck and
right cheek.
Beatrice Schrader, 104 Juniper
St., reported that vandals painted a
side window of her car and also her
license plate.
Warrants were advised after a
woman claimed she was assaulted
at Chesterfield Apartments.
Pic and Pay Shoes, KM Plaza,
reported that a black male tried on
a $34.99 pair of brown back trail-
ing shoes and walked out of the
store and didn't pay for them.

reported larceny of a blue 20-inch
Tanna bike.

to the driver's window of her 1989

McDonald's Restaurant reported
three crank calls by callers hanging
up. Comfort Inn, I-
85 at York Road, reported damage
to a wooden arm chair.
Charles Franklin Ware, 807
Boyce Street, reported that vandals
punctured four tires on his 1991
Mazda truck and sprayed paint on
the passenger side of the vehicle.
Lewis Edward Cook, 410
Somerset, reported that vandals
punctured four tires on his 1989
Toyota while it was parked at 700
Bridges Drive.
A strong arm robbery occurred
on June 12 and involved a flim
flam operation by two black wom-
en who grabbed money from a 82-
year-old resident. One of the sus-
pects was described as six feet tall
of slender build and wearing a
black jumpsuit with yellow stripes
and a purple raincoat. The other
female: had red hair and was
dressed in a black and white polka
dot dress.

Waco Rd., reported that someone
cut tires on her 1989 Ford
Mustang.
Samuel Pennington, 2, of 809
Gold Street, was bit by a dog
chained at a neighbor's home.
Police said the child was treated at
the hospital and the dog was held
at the Animal Shelter for observa-
tion.
Nellie Smith, 318 Somerset
Drive, reported a lost or stolen
mixed Shepherd Collie. The female
dog answers to Miah and and is de-
scribed as friendly. Smith, in the
process of moving to Lexington,
said that persons finding the animal
should report it to the police de-
partment.

Thornburg Drive, reported that a
black male was communicating
threats. Police responded to the in-
cident and arrested Donald
Frederick Adams, 25, of 1020
Barnette Drive, and charged him
with drunk and disorderly. His
$500 bond was secured.
Waffle House, I-85 at York
Road, reported an incident of de-
frauding an innkeeper. Three white
males entered the restaurant, ate
three steak dinners and left without
paying for the food.
Barbara Gibson, 307 Sigmon
Road, Dallas, reported that a sus-
pect took money from her purse at
Pine Manor Apartments. Police ad-
vised warrants,
Tonja Kitchen, 201 Fite Rd.,
Belmont, reported larceny of a 25
caliber semi-automatic Jennings
handgun from her vehicle parked at
Pine Manor Apartments.
Police answered a domestic call
to Pine Manor Apartments on June
12 at 8:29 p.m. Gunshots were
fired, according to witnesses. A
woman was struck in the stomach
and underwent surgery at
Cleveland Memorial Hospital.
Police said the wound was self-in-
flicted with a .22 caliber rifle. Sgt.
Mark Simpson and Ptl. Don Martin
investigated.
Kings Mountain Express, King
Street, reported that four black
males came into the store and
walked off with 15 cartons of
Bristol Light cigarettes valued at
$187.50. One of the suspects re-
portedly distracted the clerk as the
others carried out the cigarettes.

Harper Pharmacy.

Police cited Douglas Ray Harris,
547 Dixon School Road, for safe
movement violation. Harris, oper-
ating a 1992 Ford which belongs to
Earl Tindall Ford in Gastonia, was
attempting to cross the Hawthorne
crossing and tried to back up when
he saw the approaching train. The
Southern Railway train operated by .
Robert Charles Kinnard of
Dahlone, GA hit the bumper of the
car.

A 1982 VW owned by Margaret
Louise Ward, 2004 King Street,
rolled back across a sidewalk at
Campbell Circle Apartments and
hit a tree and fence doing $400
- damage.
JUNE 21
A hit and run involved Sandra
Allen Thompson, 1203 Borders
Rd. Shelby, operating a 1985
Mercury, and another car traveling
the west bound ramp of the Bypass
on Cleveland Avenue. Thompson
said the other driver tried to pass as
they turned on the bypass and
forced her vehicle off the right side
of the road doing $450 damage.
Steven Eugene Johnston, 21, of
101 Wade Rd., was hit by a train
on Phenix Street as he and a com-
panion walked the tracks.
According to police, Johnston and
Tim Wood were walking the tracks
between Linwood and Phenix
Street. When the train whistle
blew, Wood hollered for his friend
to get off the track. Police said the
Southern Railway System train
was operated by R.M. Davis of
Greenville, SC and was traveling at
speeds of 50 miles per hour. The
victim, who was thrown clear of
the tracks, was hospitalized at
Cleveland Memorial Hospital at
2:59 a.m.
