VERNAL SAMUEL GRANT Inman-Grant Bernice Lou Ann Inman and Vernal Samuel Grant exchanged mar- riage vows July 25 in Southside Baptist Church in Gastonia. Rev. Wesley Johnson officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Best man was the bridegroom's father. Belinda Inman was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brigett Inman, Bobbi Inman, Louise Grigg, all of Bessemer City, Tracie Hartley of Dallas, Susan Helms of Cherryville, and Kelly Mosteller of Lincolnton. : Ashley Johnson was flower girl and Wesley King was ringbearer. Ushers were Shannon Tate, Junior Grant, Chad Millwood, and Scott Grant, Sonny Popwell, all of Bessemer City, and Jason Mauney of Cherryville. ; A reception was hosted by parents of the bride and bridegroom at Lucille Tatum Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Inman of Bessemer City are parents of the bride. She is a student at Bessemer City High School. The bridegroom is the son of Mr.and Mrs. Gary Grant of Bessemer City. A graduate of Bessemer City High School, he is attending Gaston College. After a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee the newlyweds are at home in Bessemer City. i The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner July 24 at Pier 66 MR. AND MRS. JOHN DAVID FAUCETTE Colvard-Faucette An outdoor wedding at the home of Marty and Teresa Negus in Kings Mountain was the setting for the August 1 wedding of Tammy Lanette Colvard and John David Faucette. ! Rev. Patricia Stone, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, offici- ated the ceremony for which Wanda Wilson was vocalist. Ken Daniels escorted the bride and gave her in marriage. She wore a white satin gown with pearl buttoned lace sleeves. The off shoulder neckline was enhanced with sequins and pearls that extended to the drop waist enhanced by buttons and a silk bow. The full skirt extended into a Chapel train. She carried a bouquet of peach and white carnations and baby's breath. Teresa Negus was matron of honor and Brandy Faucette, niece of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. The two attendants wore peach off-shoulder tea-length formals featur- ing drop waistlines. They carried single peach long-stemmed carnations with baby's breath. The bridegroom's father was best man. The bridegroom's brother, Lee Faucette of Granite Falls ushered with Marty Negus of Kings Mountain. The reception was held after the ceremony at the Negus home. Melvin and Bobbie Faucette hosted the rehearsal dinner July 31 at Town and Country BBQ. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Colvard of Kings Mountain are parents of the bride, a 1987 graduate of Bessemer City High School. She is the grand-- daughter of Nellie Dorn. She is employed by Gaston Memorial Hospital. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Faucette of Kings Mountain and grandson of Mr.and Mrs. C. W, Barnhardt. He is a 1982 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is employed by Wirtz Inc. The newlyweds have returned from a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC and are residing in Kings Mountain. A crown-style headpiece held her fingertip veil edged with satin and net. She wore the shoes her mother wore 29 years ago at her wedding and carried her maternal great-grandmother's handkerchief. She carried a modified cascade of sterling silver roses, dendrobium orchids and freesia gypsophilia. Mrs. John Jay Lawrence of Midland, Texas and Mrs. Randal Allen DeMay of Williamson, NY, sister of the bridegroom, were matrons of honor. Cynthia Camile Collins of Fort Worth, Texas was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Julie Ann Jenner of Grapevine, Texas and Cynthia Blair Ramsey of Anderson, SC, cousin of the bride. Ashley Anderson Quarles of Gastonia, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. John Jay Lawrence Jr. of Midland, Texas, carried the rings. All the attendants wore violet floral print gowns designed with dropped waistlines, short sleeves, and tea length skirts. They wore matching violet shoes and carried nosegays of pink, yellow, purple, and lavender status, Alestromeria lilies, daisies and miniature carnations. Brian Scott Grooms of Scottsville, NY was best man. Groomsmen were Edward Ambrose Be Vier of Daphne, Alabama and Doug Andre BeVier of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, brothers of the bride- groom, Charles Dean Preston II of Clemson, SC, brother of the bride, and Carl Eugene Thompson. The bride's parents hosted the reception after the ceremony at Kings Mountain Country Club. Dr. and Mrs. Dale Andrew BeVier, parents of the bridegroom, hosted the rehearsal dinner Friday night at Holiday Inn. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dean Preston of Midland, Texas are parents of the bride, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marcus Owens of Kings Mountain and Dr. and Mrs. John Montgomery Preston of Columbia, SC. The bride is a 1987 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, Texas and also attended the University of North Texas. She graduated in December 1991 with a B.S. in Textile Management from Clemson University. She is employed as Special Events Coordinator for Matthews-Belk in Gastonia. _ The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Dale Andre BeVier of Kennett Square, PA. A 1986 graduate of D. W. Daniel High School, he is a 1990 graduate of Clemson University with B.S. in Management and a December 1991 graduate of Clemson University with Master's degree in Industrial Management.
