Donald Frederick Adams, 25, 1020 Barnette Drive, assault with deadly weapon, $500 bond, unse- cured. Andre Stowe, 30, 851 Radio St., Gastonia, driving while license re- voked, citation. William Lamar Gamble, 22, 22 Chesterfield, consuming alcohol in public at Pine Manor Apartments, citation. Jessie H. Hayes, 54, 4801 Jackson Drive Apt. 3, Charlotte, possession of drug paraphernalia, citation. Jessie Curry, 39, Bo 125, sim- ple possession of marijuana. Officers confiscated six small bags containing a green vegetable like substance believed to be marijuana during a license check at Pine Manor Apartments. Michael Dean McGuire, 29, 2304 Kingston Road, Shelby, sim- ple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. McGuire was arrested after a license check at Pine Manor Apartments. Officers confiscated 1/4 ounce marijuana, a pack of cigarette rolling papers, a wooden pipe and several cigarette roaches. : Floydce L. Jeffries, 24, Route 2 Bessemer City, driving while li- cense revoked. Ralph David Ervin, 19, 701 Charles Rd., Shelby, citation, pos- session of beer at Pine Manor Apartments. Sheila Wilson, 25, 3F Kingswood Apt., criminal sum- mons to appear in court August 31 on charges of worthless check. Sharis Laverne Wilson, 24, 407 Hill St., Gastonia, consuming open malt beverage while driving a car. . Lewis Martin Ward II, 27, 486 S. King St., Gastonia, damage to real property, a window at Depot Stop and Go. His $500 bond was secured. Deborah Emery, 36, General Delivery, drunk and disruptive, held in county jail until sober. Charles Edward McClain,24, 714 Park Drive, Shelby, drunk and dis- ruptive, held in county jail until sober. INCIDENTS + First Citizens Bank & Trust, 403 S. Battleground, reported that two juveniles shattered bank windows. Officers chased the suspects but lost them in a wooded area off Cherokee Street. Fraderick Lamar Burris, 19, of 407A Cherry Street, was treated at the hospital for wounds to his up- per left shoulder after he was re- City police join task force Kings Mountain Police Department has joined the 27-B Judicial District Task Force to tar- get major drug offenders of the area. \ A Governor's Crime commission grant will fund the operation of the task force to be called 27-B Drug Task Force. Other participating agencies are Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Lincolnton Police Deportment, Shelby Police Department, the District Attorney's Office of the 27-B Judicial District and the - Southern Piedmont District of the N. C. Special Bureau of Investigation. The task force will be conduct- ing investigative activities related to the identification, arrest, and prosecution of persons involved in major drug violations. DA Bill Young ‘will be working closely with the members of the task force in the preparation of the investiga- tions for prosecution and the task force will be working with other ~ Federal, State and local enforce- ment agencies to significantly re- duce the importation of illegal drugs into the 27-B area. The Board of Directors of the 27-B Drug Task Force will include Sheriff Joe L. Kiser of Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Chief Terry Burgin of Lincolnton Police Department, Chief Warren Goforth of Kings Mountain Police Department, Special Agent-In- Charge James Woodard of the Southern Piedmont District of the State Bureau of Investigation and Bill Young, District Attorney of the 27-B Judicial District. Goforth said public support for law enforcement efforts is essen- tial. Persons having information concerning illegal drug activities arc encouraged to contact their lo- cal law enforcement agencies. Raymond Garris said a fight took place on McGinnis Street August 8th and James David Duncan, 604 Bessemer City Highway, was treated at the hospi- tal after a bullet grazed his right leg. "Several people at the scene were shoving each other around and the injured man at first refused treatment," said Garris. Heidi Hamrick, 706 Landing St., reported that $400 damage was done to her 1985 Dodge by vandals damaging the left window and paint. Phomy Inthavanh, 27 Chesterfield Apt., reported that vandals broke out two window panes at his apartment. Nancy Kerns, 716 Sipe St., re- ported larceny of her purse from a desk at her residence. Donieta Gill, IA Kingswood, re- ported that the windshield of her 1985 Toyota was broken out while parked at 109 Carpenter Street. Ricky Moore, 506 Scarlet Ave., Bessemer City, reported a domestic incident at 37 Pine Manor Apartment in which he suffered cuts on the arm from glass from a broken lamp. KM Express Store, King St., re- ported that a driver in a Chevy van pumped $19.04 worth of gasoline and left the scene without paying for it. Kings Mountain District Schools reported that the school office on Parker Street was broken into August 3 and nearly $800 in items taken, including a TV-VCR combi- nation valued at $549, $20 in cur- rency, a $79 Panasonic calculator, a $30 camera, and 400 29 cents U.S. postage stamps. School officials found the damage to a window and the missing items when they re- ported to work at 7:35 a.m. August 4. Sarah Blanchette, 618 River Bend Court Newport News, VA, reported theft of $1230 in house- hold goods and damage of $75 to her van parked at Comfort Inn. Blanchette said her family was in process of relocating their resi- dence and had stopped at the motel for the night. Taken from the van were a color television set, a AM/FM cassette player, CD player, game system, two albums of base- ball cards, a large bag of makeup and a plastic bag of stuffed ani- mals. Silver Express, King Street, and Harris Teeter, King Street, reported that two customers had passed bo- gus checks on Travis Knit of Cherryville. Police warn that per- sons cashing checks should ask for a correct ID and match the face of the person cashing the check with the face appearing on their driver's license. Patricia Russell, 508 Crescent Hill, reported theft of a $140 radar detector and $150 gold hood orna- ment from her 1987 Cadillac parked at her residence. Kim Gaston, 508 E. Virginia Ave. Bessemer City, reported van- dalism to her 1987 Chevrolet. She said that two tires were cut.and eggs were broken on the vehicle and house, doing $250 damage. Comfort Inn, I-85 at York Road, reported larceny of a bedspread and pillowcase. WRECKS JULY 28 A 1984 Buick operated by Brian Keith Wilson, 3521 Long Circle, Gastonia, struck a pedestrian on Landing Street. Pil. B. FE. Melvin said that Mark Wayne Russell, 29, was treated at Kings Mountain Hospital. JULY 29 A 1987 Mercury operated by Shad Mason Clark; of Grover, pulled into the path of a 1984 Buick on King Strect operated by Doris Sanders, 201 N. Cansler St, doing $100 damage to the Clark vehicle. Sanders was treated at the hospital for injuries. A 1982 Pontiac operated by Calvin Lee Camp, 305 Campbell Circle, ran the light on King Street and struck a 1984 Buick operated by Maria Miller, Route 2 Stanley. Damages were estimated at $500 to the Camp vehicle. A 1990 Plymouth operated by Harwood T. Smith, 200 N. Piedmont Ave., veered off the road on Piedmont avenue and hit a utili- ty pole doing a total of $8,000 damage. Smith told Ptl. Chris Owens that he looked down to the passenger seat and veered off the road.
